After doing rehab (stall rest, PRP, Shockwave, strict exercise schedule, ect.) we have decided to do a fasciotomy-neurectomy for hind proximal suspensory desmitis on my gelding to give him the best chance of coming back. I am located in the PNW, my vet recommended OSU do the surgery. Has anyone done this surgery? Was it succesful? Who did the surgery? Any tips for before or after the surgery? I was hoping it wouldn't be needed, but it looks like this is going to be the best option. :(
I would do my best to avoid a fasciotomy. If there's absolutely no other choice but to do it I'd have the surgery done at OakRidge, not OSU.
