Has anyone used hoof armor?
I have and love it. Just want to say though I generally have to re-apply every 2 to 3 weeks and two coats in the beginning. Also when it says a thin coat, it really means a thin coat. If you try to put too much it doesn't cure well. I keep it on hand in case my horse pulls a shoe or I transition one to barefoot. I usually stall my horse for a few hours if it has been wet out to make sure the hoof is dry and then I might use a blow dryer on the sole and wall before I apply it. I also lightly rough up the sole and hoof wall with a small wire brush or sandpaper before applying it. It seems a lot but it only takes minutes to do. Once I apply it and smooth it I dust the sole/hoof with baby powder and the horse is good to go. I figured all these things out through trial and error.
Thank you!
Yes, I have used it. You can tell when to reapply based on how itll feel when you pick their hooves. You'll feel the "enamel" slipperiness at first. Every couple 3-4 weeks, another coat is needed. They say it lasts several, but I don't really think so.
Not hard to apply once you get the hang of the process.
Applied right after trim
