My husband just gave me NFR tickets for our anniversary!!! I've never been and I'm so excited! I'm looking for any any info those of you who've gone can give me. Where to stay? Where to watch on the nights we don't go to T&M? Where to see the competitors? What to do during the daytime? Thank you all!!

Awesome gift!! We went in 2017 and got the most competitive hotel rates at the Excalibur. Its on the strip and close to everything. However, if I had it to do all over again I would try to stay at the Southpoint. We ended up ubering out there almost every day to watch the ropings or to go to the buckle ceremony.

I haven't been to Las Vegas in several years for the NFR.  We did go to Ft. Worth last year and it was great!  I recommend figuring out where you want to stay and booking a room as soon as you can.  When my husband roped at South Point we booked a room in May I think.  South Point was sold out long before the NFR.

We've stayed at a few places over the years: Mandalay Bay, New York New York, and MGM Grand. Mandalay was by far the nicest, MGM had a great room to take in the live feed of the NFR, and New York New York had really good food and a nice bar that we would cozy up to, eat dinner, and watch the rodeo action. We've uber'd, taxi'd, and light railed it over the years and by far the easiest was Uber.  Daytime is filled with SHOPPING!!!LOL The tradeshows are fabulous and a horse girl's dream come true.

This link has all the info for shopping, watch parties etc.

Cowboy Christmas is at the Las Vegas Convention Center, with the hunting & outdoor expo on the 2nd floor. The Rio has Stetson Country Christmas. Mandalay Bay has the Roper Cowboy Marketplace.

Also, the world finals roping will be at South Point and that is where the Cinch western gift show is at.

We stayed at a bunch of different hotels. Excalibur is in the middle of the strip and not very expensive. The Luxor next door the same. And both are an easy walk to Mandalay Bay.

We stayed at Treasure Island a couple of years. The casino is not huge and so we don't get lost as much in there. Plus it's in walking distance of the Convention Center, and right next door to the Vegas Mall.

Last year we stayed at the Rio, easy walk to the Stetson Shopping. But a bit farther from the strip.

And of course there is plenty to see just walking down the strip!! Always good fun if you are a people watcher. lol.

We prefer staying at the MGM Signature property.  It's usually very easy to catch the free transportation to/from the NFR at the MGM.
