I'm trying to research now for next year to see if there are any really good reliable, honest, patient trainers that start colts near me. This horse will be a Dressage horse so I am not looking for any discipline specific training, just someone to start his first 60 or so days off right. This horse is everything to me. He is a nicer horse than I ever thought I'd be able to get my hands on and I love him so much so I am SO paranoid that he may not get treated right. I've heard some horror stories.

So if any of you know of an amazing trainer in North Dakota or surrounding states, let me know!

I could probably tell you a few people to make sure you DON'T send your colt to. I haven't had to send a colt off in a very long time, but I too have heard some horror stories from other folks.

I don't think she is taking outside horses right now but Elsabe at Muddy Boot horses is absolutely amazing. No matter which direction they are going, you just need a good solid foundation on them. You can find her on FB. Like I said, I don't think she is taking any right now but she  knows people and could probably recommend people for you.

Phil Haugen is also absolutely amazing, but I have no idea what kind of terrible wait list he has, LOL. (Although he doesn't live in this neck of the wood anymore.)  I saw a 3-year old that he put 90 days on and on lordy, that horse looked amazing. I would seriously make the trip if I had a colt that needed starting.
