Location: LaBelle, Florida | We live at the end of a dead end road with a rental property across from us. Needless to say, renters rotate frequently and may or may not be trustworthy. We are looking into getting a camera system as there have been some theft on our road in the past. Our home is towards the back of our 5 acres and we are fenced. Need recommendations for cameras...we would like to be able access from our phones as we both work. |

Some trail cameras have the ability to use wifi (if you have it available) and send notices of pictures to your computer. I would assume it would also be able to set up to your phone. That would give you "real time" pictures. |

Location: Where Tall Corn Grows | We put in Ring cameras this summer due to new neighbors and all sorts of shenanigans going on. We put 1 on the garage, 1 on the shop facing the drive way and one on the door bell facing the road. You will need a router and electricity to install them. You can set the parameters on each camera. I pay $3.00 a month per device for the recordings which can be downloaded and saved and forwarded to law enforcement. I can go back at least a month and view the footage. We've been happy with the Ring capabilities. It has sound, zoom, a siren, and you can talk through them, turn lights on or off. There are other brands out there which are probably just as good if not better. Edit to add, all notifications come to your smart phone. You can view your property anytime of the day.

Location: MS | We have the blink cameras from Amazon. They are wireless and run off batteries so you don't have to run any wiring to them. They have a base that the cameras connect to and it connects to your wifi. It will send you notifications when motion sets them off and you can change the sensitivity and length of the clips it videos on each camera. It's $10 a month for unlimited cameras. ETA: you can also talk to someone thru them

Location: Texas | I have NightOwl cameras at my residence and they're really good... There's an app that I have on my phone that allows me to check my cameras any time. I also get notifications if there's motion on my cameras. I've dealt with Ring cameras quite a bit at work and those cameras seem to be really good also. |

| I went to Bestbuy and told the guy I needed something that could operate without internet or WiFi as my internet is less than stellar. He fixed me up and I got hone. Really easy to install and I was thinking wow, I like this. Turn it in and the first thing it says is open something on the internet so I packed everything back up and drive 50 miles back to Bestbuy. I got on Amazon and read up on several different systems decided to buy one that was$200 for 4 cameras. It has like a DVR that resets once a month. Works great at night don't have to have WiFi/internet but will hook up to your phone if you want. The ONLY drawback is that the cameras are not battery operated. You have to run an extension cord to each camera. One other plus is that they are in 24/7 recording which I live. That makes them extremely entertaining as I have the next door neighbors from hell. So far I have gotten video of my neighbors taking pictures of my cameras because they think they are motion sensor. (They have a view of about 140 degrees so slipping upon the side of them isn't going to happen.) I also got a great video of the 12 year old karate kicking a little 4 year old in the back. I don't miss much. Not sure the brand but will look on it if you are interested. Also I did get a couple of extra cameras. |
