Hi all. I was wondering if I could get some help redoing my current feed routine. It works okay but it is too complicated lol. I have 3 horses that I am feeding, retired 23 year old OTTB,  and 2 14 year old quarter horses. Is there something that could replace a couple of these with one supplement? They also are on pasture 24/7 and get about 10 lbs alfalfa and 5 lbs orchard hay at night. Any help in general would be amazing. I dont know if I need to add another feed, up my renew gold or what. They are all at a healthy weight, wouldn't mind putting some more on since it is winter. I am a college student but I defiantly want them to look and feel their best no matter the cost(sometimes unfortunately lol) I am in western washington and have access to Tractor supply, the co-op and Coastal. Thank you!

What they eat

Mare 1 in moderate work (3-4 days a week)

- 1lb renew gold

- 2 oz pozzi relax

- 2 oz forco

- 1 oz tight joints

- 2 oz quiessence

- 2 oz LMF super dose

Mare 2 in light work( 1-2 days a week)

- 1lb renew gold

- 2 oz forco

- 2 oz quiessence

- 2 oz LMF super dose

Mare 3 (retired moderate keeper)

- 1lb renew gold

- 2 oz forco

- 2 oz LMF super dose

Why not just do

HAY

FORCO

RENEW GOLD

PLATINUM

Platinum will take care of all your bases.

I would up the hay and Renew Gold a bit and stop all the extras supplements and just feed the hay, Renew gold, Forco, and look into the MVP supplements as in mega-Cell or the Mega -Mag. I use to feed Forco but goodness the supplements were really adding up so I started them all on the Mega-Cell, its got what I wanted in Vits and Minerals and Amino Acids all in one supplement. MVP is #1 in supplements in my books, I just got tired of having to add different ones in my horses feed, going simple as in feeding is better for me and my horses.

I just did the math and my god, I spend alot per month lol. Since I buy in bulk, I spend less then norman but it is still about $360 per month for all the horses. If I did forco, renew gold and platinum, I would still be spending about $306 per month.

Since  you feed Renew Gold you don't really need to add a vitamin/mineral supplement. You just need to provide good quality hay and a good protein source.

Is this including the price of hay. Do you least the pasture or is it yours?

No, This is not including the price of hay. We are renting the property at the moment.

My 2 get the Preform from Nutrena. We get it at Tractor Supply. My gelding that is a bit harder to keep weight on also gets kool calories. They have a free choice round bale of grass and get fed alfalfa 2x a day. They also have free access to pasture

The only supplement either get is a joint supplement from CEP along with Gut Check from CEP. I feel like sometimes we get so wrapped up in supplements that we tend to over feed and they lose their potency esp when numerous ones are given.
