How many other mare and stallion owners have been dealing with shipping issues during breeding season? Last year I had semen get stuck in Memphis and I have this year as well. I have also heard that people have been having issues with USPS and not just Fedex. How are we supposed to keep paying for shipping and then miss when the mare ovulates and have to pay again and hope it gets here in time. I know many people are struggling with this but man has it made breeding horses so much more stressful. Has anyone else dealt with the same thing? I am sure it is frusterating on all sides.

You can blame Trump's appointed Postmaster General (DeJoy). In the summer of 2020, he removed FIVE sorting machines from the Memphis Postal hub. Each machine sorted 38,000 pieces of mail per hour ..... THAT is 190 THOUSAND pieces of mail PER HOUR that is NOT getting sorted!

Seriously Trump.....2 shipments we had issues with had nothing to do with some sorting machine.....and looking at this since you brought it up it seems most delays would center on second, third class mail not first class or overnight,,,,

Among many instances of late mail ..... I had a "first class" letter mailed (through Memphis) that took FOURTEEN days ..... another "priority mail" (through Memphis) take over EIGHT days ..... I have had MANY packages held though Memphis for 5-8 days ...... you take out the sorting machines and it slows the WHOLE process ......  so don't try to tell ME that removing the sorting machines has NOT affected delivery!

Additionally, his policies included cutting back hours of postal workers or limiting how often employees can work late or make extra trip ....all have contributed to a slowdown in mail delivery.

Shipping delays were said to run into 2022 but ugh has it been bad.  USPS plan to move to their ground network for being more reliable and not as costly as air is suffering from driver shortages.  Fed Ex and UPS are suffering from delays too including suppy chain issues, driver shortages.  Look at what is happening with Amazon.  I have been at the short end of shipping delays this year from all carriers.  You might want to try going with a private courier service or shipping service like Unishippers, great shipping advisor and deals in smalls and freight.  The cost up front seems a bit high but after hit and miss repeated shipments it was worth it.
