| It really does take a special person to be able to do this kind of work. My hat is tipped to you Abby and I hope that you are ok from the incident. |

Location: Central Oregon | Abby, Thank you for being there. My father died with Alzheimer, and was combative for 5 of the 7 years he lived with it. I kept him at my home for as long as I could handle him, then I had to put him in a home. One home after another, until finally he had to go to the state hospital. It is a very hard illness on the patient, family and care givers. It takes a special person to care for these people. Thank you again Jodie I am glad the bite is ok, do they require rabies shots now? |

Location: Nokomis, FL USA | Abby, Thank You for what you do. My great grandmother had alzheimers, my grandmother refused to send her to a nursing home. I know what she went through. Gail's right, it takes a special person to do what you do. |

Location: Oklahoma | Abby, you must be a very special lady. Makes me feel bad that I joked about my Alzheimer's the other day, even though I was just joking about myself, it was pretty thoughtless. God bless you for the kind work that you do. |

Location: Holland, Tx | I think everyone jokes about having it, including myself. We also talk about it being contagious, even though it isn't. There's several ex-nurses on the units I have worked on. Its scary!!! |

Location: I'm lost - please tell me, I'm not on BHW again!!! | Way to go Abby. I'm very proud of you and the work you do, I'm sorry they had to take a bite out of you! But on a different note, can I send you my mother in law and you can see if she has Alzihiemers and if not you can still keep her? LOL (I'm sorry, I had to give you a little joke or you would think I wasn't feeling well today). LOL |

Location: Kress, Texas | Abby, I too think you are special. I hope your bite wasn't too cerious. My step-father was in the early stages of alzheimer's when he passed and my mother had dementia(sp)when she passed with cancer 2 months ago. But I think all nurses are special that enjoy their work and do it well.
