| Since I get tired of posting the abcess cure, I thought a thread for home remedies that work was in order. I'll start:
Sidekicks Mom - 2009-04-16 5:59 PM This recipe needs to be a sticky because I get tired of posting it!
1 cup Ice Tight (or some other packing mud). 1/3 cup Iccathamol 1 TBS Epsom Salts 1 tsp Alum (pickling spice)
Mix in well ventilated area. Slap on bottem of foot. Put newborn baby diaper on and duct tape the crp out of it.
Change every 24 hours. The longest I have seen it take to work is 48 hours.

| Detangler (close enough to the actual mix, lol):
1 pint Alcohol 3/4 cup baby oil 3 oz Alpha Keri (blue bath oil)
Mix all igrediants in spray bottle. Shake as you use. Start at the bottem and work your way up.
This takes out mats in the mane and tail better than any OTC product out there.
After you use it, you can then wash and condition since it does have alcohol in it.

Some people freak out about the alcohol being in it and drying the hair.
I've never had a problem becuase I think all the oil counteracts the alcohol. |

Location: TN | This isn't really a home remedy, but its cheap...lol. Theres a blue spray can in the ethnic hair isle, I forget the name of the stuff, but its an oil based spray. WORKS WONDERS. Just spray it in the mane and tail and the tangles come right out!! I use a ton of it. You can get it at the Dollar Store for a couple bucks (this is where I get all my grooming stuff!!! haha) |

| For tail detangler, I use Wipe II fly spray. Spray fairly liberally, let it sit for a minute and it will comb right through any knots! |

Location: IM A DUDE!!!!!!! | for a body liniment i use rubbing alcohol
it also helps bring out the dirt and makes them shiney
i use regular vinegar and a lil bit of water for fly spray
right now we have those HUGE sticker burrs and my horses that are turned loose have them all over their manes and tails
they look like they have hair rollers
so i use WD40
just spray it on and they will fall off themselves
