The promo poster already irritates me.

I hope they don't portray barrel racers as a bunch of buckle-bunny bimbos......

A better promo poster would have been a girl wearing muddy jeans and a button-down with the same dark, gritty photo filter.

I admit, I will probably end up watching this show - just because WPRA Today once a week is not enough barrel racing television for me - but I hope I don't end up hating it.

Omg I didn't even notice she was in a bikini. That ridiculous. Are these pro girls or just amateurs rodeos?

Nevermind answered my own questions. It says pro girls. I don't know any wpra races that let you run in a bikini.

I hope it's decent!! I hate the way some shows make barrel racers look. If it is good I will definatley watch it though! Maybe some people will learn that we don't just get on and sit there!

I showed my husband and said, "Who really barrel races in a bikini?"
He replies, "I know! And where do we have to go to see it?!"
Seriously

Not to bash anybody, but a thought just came into my head:

What self-respecting pro would participate in this knowing how the producers are OBVIOUSLY going to spin it?

Again, not to knock anybody and be rude, but it only takes $1000 to call yourself a pro in WPRA-land. I think gals like Walker, Cervi, Pozzi, Loflin, Bass, Mays, and other riders of a similar caliber would rather be dead than be represented in such an embarrassing fashion.

I have had this set to record on my DVR since Barrel Horse News wrote about it several months ago. However, I have to agree with you. The promo poster and the description alone already irritate me. I was hoping it was going to be a show that showed what barrel racers are really like and maybe take you behind the scenes with some pros. But this sounds like they're more interested in how fancy the pros living quarters trailers are and how much money is spent. Pfft! I sure hope it proves to be a decent show or I will be deleting it from my DVR.

Ew. The A&E article sounds terrible. "Lavish & glamorous world..." "Hailing from backgrounds as diverse as their credit card purchases" "Of course when everyone is chasing the same goal, there is plenty of backstabbing to go around... not to mention plenty of cowboys!"

Sounds like a rich girl version of Texas Women with more drama. And that posted looks COMPLETELY airbrushed. Way to grab some publicity. Guys will watch it I'm sure.

"...goes behind the scenes and offers a glimpse into the lavish and glamorous world of the women of the pro rodeo circuit"

Am I competing in a different sport than they are? Or maybe I'm doing it wrong?

Well reality is not nearly as appealing made up fantasy rodeo! LOL

"Women pound black coffee, ibuprofen and red bull while pulling all night drives with only the company of a chihuahua and XM radio"

or "Got a flat tire, late for slack again and had to park 2 miles from the flippin rodeo, ground sucked, it hailed and I hit a barrel...at least the town had a mcdonalds"

They were filming this show at some of the rodeos I was at this past summer. It was completely staged. All these girls were riding around getting filmed and they weren't even up that day. They were dressed like bar flys. I suspect it will be a good joke. JMO

ugh just read from the link posted above:" these prominent and privileged rodeo queens"

well there's your issue...they don't know the difference between a pro barrel racer and a rodeo queen. Oh dear me

I follow one of the girls on FB from the NW....problem is I've never heard of her before this....and I may not know ALL the barrel racers' names, being a roper and all, but if you're doing any good I'll definitely recognize it!!

 Oh no you didn't

Ps, this show sounds awful. "Reality tv" is a bit of an oxymoron, no?
