I like him, I think maybe his babies just haven't been tried much in the barrel pen because when one of his daughters won the All American they got really high. First Down Dash crossed on a strong mare line, what's not to like? I'd like to see more input on him as well.

I have a mare by Brookstone Bay out of Hum Dash Special. Registered name Brookstone Special. She is the smartest, most willing horse I have ever dealt with. I got her a couple months ago just track broke and very green. Less than 30 rides later she is already collecting, moving off of leg pressure and ready to put on the pattern. She is very sweet not mareish at all but she definitly has quite the motor and a hip to die for. Watching her turn in the roundpen
(I always have them turn towards me almost like a cutting horse cutting a cow
) makes you drool over how fast and low she gets to complete that turn. Just naturally drops her hips under her and quick as a cat is heading the other way. I took her out to see cows and walked through a herd of horses with no issues she never spooked when crossing water or anything unexpected happened like most young horses off the track. She seems to handle things as well as my gelding with more go and you can see her thinking and wanting to do whatever you ask her. I see a lot of people say the Brookstones don't do well at longer distances for the most part but are great at 300yds or so. The lady I got her from said the same thing about my mare in the 8 races she was in. I have seen a colt by Brookstone Bay "Hey Say Neigh" for sale on munkersfarm.com for $85,000 as a 1D prorodeo horse and several prospects mostly off the track for high dollar
(cheapest was a $5000 yearling filly
) which I do agree is probably one reason why his progeny is not in the barrel pen much yet. I also have noticed that the top performers from his progeny were from Beduino bred mares but there are a couple Dash for Cash mares and even a half Leo bred mare that had foals by him that did very well. I know every horse is different but if all his colts have the same dis
position and willingness and brains to boot as my mare I wouldnt hesitate one second to buy another one.

We have a mare that is 4 this year sired by Brookstone Bay and out of a Financially mare. The mare I ran at the NFR is a daughter of Financially. This is our first Brookstone horse and she is phenomenal! She is futurity eligible and we have considered selling her to the right home.

I really really like them! We had one last year as a yearling who was amazing to handle, has gone on to win a few races at the track and then I currently have a 5 year old OTT that I just listed. He is the very best minded horse as was the yearling.
Both were bred differently on the bottom side and both excellent minds. Current one goes back to Sixarun on bottom. He is over 16 hands but he has as someone else said an incredible ability to get up under himself so naturally. I started putting a handle on him and he has so impressed me. Easy easy to handle and ride and very quiet. He is incredibly sweet, I'm in love with him!
