Location: Near San Antonio, TX | I am so devestated and wanted to see if any of you guys have any suggestions for me to try. Last Saturday (the 9th) two of my three dogs dug out of my yard and have gone missing. Bonnie (aussie shepherd/border collie) is a known escape artist, and Marcy (black lab) is more of a follower. Knowing this, we have wire netting along the perimeter of our yard AND have the PetSafe Invisible fence. However a few months ago my husband rebuilt the fence between our yard and where I keep my horses with pipe and cattle panel. In doing this, he had to turn off the invisible fence and get it out of the way. Apparently he never turned it back on, and now my sweet girls are gone and I am beside myself with worry.
I have printed hundreds of flyers. Posted them on gas pumps, restaurants, feed stores, stopsigns, lots and lots of peoples gates, etc. I have the signs posted at feed stores, vet offices, I have notified animal shelters, etc. I have left a flyer with a note for the mail man to keep an eye out (since they are up and down roads all the time) as well as the trash collector.
What else can I do? I have a posting I renew daily on Craigslist in the Lost and Found section, and I also look online at the animals at the local shelter.
Both have regular collars AND the invisible fence collar. Marcy is microchipped. What else can I do? I have lost 6 pounds in the past week. The only thing I haven't done is call a psychic, but based on my Christian beliefs, that I won't do.

Location: Midwest | Call local veterinarian offices. Call the animal shelter. They may have dogs in that aren't on the website
call the police station. Also let your neighbors know...put flyers in mail boxes. Post on FB and if your town has a FB page, post on that. |

Location: Adopt a homeless pet - www.petfinder.com! | I'm so sorry! Sounds like you have done a lot already. The only thing I can think of is to put a sign out in your own front yard so that people driving by who may have found the dogs can see it. Also, if your dog is microchipped you can report it to the company it's registered with that she's lost. I know Homeagain does email blasts to people who have signed up for them when a dog is lost in your area. Share like crazy on Facebook too with all the shelters and rescues in your area. People are good about reposting and I know dogs thave have been reunited with their owners from that.

This is my flyer... I have gotten lots of calls, but none of them turned out to be my dogs. Did you get your dogs back?

How long did it take? Today is 10 days, and I am trying to not give up hope.... I just hope they are together.
Bonnie got out before, by herself. She was gone for 3 days. Apparently she had gotten hit by a car on the first day, and she had a lot of soft tissue wounds that were very infected on day three when she literally drug herself back home. She had a severely dislocated hip which could not be repaired, so they had to do a femoral head oscillation (FHO). So basically her first escapade cost nearly 2 grand and 10 months of healing and she was left with a false joint and a lesson not learned. |

Location: would like to be where it does not snow | Personaly check the animal shelter don't just call or check the website.. Never give up hope, I had a small dog when I was in high school who was a master escape artist, he was gone for close to 6 or 7 months I think someone picked him up, he found his way home, a little worse for wear but he came home. |

Location: Red Raiderland | Put a big sign in your yard. A few months ago some neighbors down the road from our new place had a BIG sign in front of their gate: LOST SMALL BLACK POODLE CALL #****** . I remember seeing the sign and thinking, "I'll bet their dog is out on our place." Sure enough, I pull up to our barn and go to get out and this cute little black Poodle comes running up to me. I talked to him and found he was so sweet I was able to pick him up and lock him in my tack room and drove right back over to their gate where I promptly called them. The woman was soooo HAPPY that I found their little escape artist. Our pastures are right next to each other but in the front runs a very busy state highway so I am sure she was scared to death. Don't give up hope for your two girls. I have 3 boys that have been known to escape a very secure fence to not be found for more than 3 days. I have no idea where they go or what they do but they do come back. |

| I would go to the animal shelter in person .when I lost my Sheppard I called and asked if they found a German Shepard they said no but I was going back home so I stop by to see for myself and she was there.this happened twice and both times they said no large dogs are there I'll never know how she got there because we are fourty miles from town |
