Location: Kansas | I'm normally a private person and at this point Im scared. I noticed a bump on my neck and one in front of my right ear, went to the doctor thinking it could be an infection.....and unfortunately he mentioned the C word. I made an appointment for a biopsy so they could get some more info, but doc said he believes its possibly nasopharyngeal cancer. Hhe said not to worry too much, and it is a common cancer. Just need some prayers and hope its not what what we think |

My aunt was having problems seeing, walking, keeping her balance. Turned out to be a tumor on her pituitary gland. It was benign, but causing pressure on her brain. They removed it and she was back to work in a couple weeks.
Benign tumors or cysts are pretty common. You are young, so the odds are it's nothing serious. They want to rule out the worst. Please update us after your biopsy, I know we will all be thinking about you! |

Thank you. I've been experiencing alot of pain in my neck, the lump is already 1cm big so about the size of a pea. It's painful to touch it, and if I move my head to the side my vision gets blurry, also I get headaches horribly on a daily basis now. My speech seems to be getting slurry, I can't have a converstation with someone without it sounding like I've had a few beers. LOL.
They will be doing a nasopharyngoscopy and a biospy, hoping to rule this out. Surgery is an option, as well as radiation. So just kind of looking on a positive outlook and hope this isnt what I think it is. |

Hopefully it will be something simple like hers was. They told her tumors like this were pretty common. She's fine now and had surgery with no radiation or chemo, as it was simply a growth. She was having a lot of issues with vertigo, nausea, headaches, etc. due to the pressue that sounds similar to what you are experiencing. They did have to pack her sinuses after surgery, but she said it really wasn't bad. She was back to work faster than they thought she would be and she had no complications later. |

| Prayers, always scary to hear the "c" word even when qualified by an easy to cure kind. As the other poster said, you are young and strong and that will benefit you if you have to have any treatment. |
