Location: Minnesota | I am beyond devastated tonight. My aunt(the only family I have) called me to let me know her cancer has spread. She is now stage 4 lung cancer and it has spread to her blood. The doctors have told her there is nothing they can do to stop it from spreading. She has been given 6 months. I am just beside myself. After my mom died of the same cancer, my aunt was really the only family to continue to talk to me. She is married to my mom's twin brother. My aunt is the reason I started going to church and the person who has stood by my side after my mom died. She loves to go antique shopping with me and gets so excited when she finds another rooster to add to my collection. She basically has stepped in as my mother figure and continued to teach me all the things my mom started to. I just can't believe that I am reliving this horrible situation all over again. If I could take my aunts place and save her from having to go through this, I would. She's already beaten cancer 3 times(over 23 years), I think she has more than shown she is a strong person but this cancer just won't give up. |

Location: SD | I am very sorry for your heartache. Continue to cherish every moment whether it be over the next 6 months or 6 years. May God wrap his loving arms around both of you and give you peace. My dad was taken by esophageal cancer which was very near his stomach. His brother now has stomach cancer. It's so very hard to watch my uncle walk the same path as my dad. |

prognosis is a tricky thing and not always correct either. My BFFs mother had brain cancer. They gave her two years and she lived 12.

My mother is 6 or 7 years into a 2 year cancer also. And I don't think it'll be the cancer that takes her but the colitis. |
