Location: SD | Does anyone have recommendations on someone in South Dakota who can start a horse under saddle? He's a 2 yr old FG and I really want him broke correct to be a barrel horse. Thanks! |

| Rodney Yost. He's insanely talented. I don't know if he's taking outside horses right now but it would be WELL worth the wait. |

Location: West River - SoDak | where are you located? Over here west river, I have used Eric Addison (who use to work for Bill Myers, and has a lot of experience starting FG's) and also currently have a horse with James Pease, who does a fantastic job of getting one really broke, and really spends a lot of time with each horse. I like them both. I don't like to ride anything that rides really green, and with both of those guys I got horses back that I could do anything with after 60-90 days. |

I agree with both of these. I just got an outside FG stud in that was with Eric for 30 days, and he is soft in the face, moves his shoulder, stops and backs really well. And he hasn't been bullied into it--he is relaxed and willing, no marks on his mouth or corners. I rode with James in college, and he can get one super broke, andd last I knew he was not rough with them either. |

Location: Somewhere in the USA | My sister in law is THE BEST!!! She breaks all of our colts to ride and she broke our stud Lions Share Of Fame!! SHe is really quiet and a tiny person so she doesnt stress their joints! Everything she breaks has an awesome feel and are so quiet! She is in Brookings SD and has an indoor barn to ride in ! |

Hopefully will get caught up once he gets an indoor put up. I've had pretty good luck with Kyle Krause and I've heard Cody Wilson does a really good job too.

Sam started my filly and I was very pleased with how he got her working.. he works them in an arena and also gets out and does some pasture rides on them as well...he also starts my neighbours cutting bred colts.. |

Location: left field | Just an FYI, I've seen 2 that Kyle Krouse rode. One was my MIL's mare, the other belonged to a friend of mine. My opinion is I wouldn't let him ride my dead donkey. I know Eric Addison somewhat and I've seen his horses and they look great, and I've always heard good things about him. |

Eric rode one for me and did a great job. |
