Location: Kansas | I've heard Equine Genie is pretty good. It's pricey, but from the screenshots looks pretty efficient! http://www.equinegenie.com/equinegenie-sample-screens/horse-screenshots |

Location: Texas | One of my friends uses Rendaivu. (Pretty sure that's how its spelled)
Its a website where you can also get an app for your phone.
I tried it and found it too time consuming, but my friend loves it.

If that sounds snotty, I'm sorry cuz I really, really do not mean it to be.
I use OneNote for everything! It's my brain now that I'm past 40.

| Checkout Cattle Pro. I use it for my Hereford seed stock operation. I think it will do what you want. Don't remember the price but it was around $100 several years ago. |

Location: North Central South Dakota, west of the Might Mo | There are several pretty nice cattle apps that would work I think. I have not tested them out much. Let me play with a couple before I recommend. The one I tested earlier I really like that would fit the bill was called "Livestock Management" but now I can't find it.

Let me play with a couple before I recommend. The one I tested earlier I really like that would fit the bill was called "Livestock Management" but now I can't find it. BHR I played with "iLivestock" Android app today. I am thinking it is also available for "i" devices too. I think this might fit what you are wanting to do. It has a lot of features...pedigrees, offspring, pastures, herd health, etc. It also has a feature where you can import data, I think if you have your data in Excel for example.
I put in several of our mares and I think it's pretty nifty. Edited to add: One neat thing is you can search for animals and find them pretty easily. Our herd prefix in cattle and horses is "BHR" and I used that as a search term and found the 4 mares I inputted with BHR in their name.
Check it out and let me know what you think. In my job, I get lots of questions about "apps" and "software programs" for these types of needs. I would appreciate your thoughts.

Free. Plus, great if you have other people's horses. You can add contact information to it!

well...yes...some of all that....what i've looked at one those apps is really tailored toward cattle but maybe with tips from BHR i could make that work...i was thinking extended pedigree but then for my own record keeping only 1st or 2nd gen are adequate...i can always drag out papers |
