Most blankets are too big on her chest so I figured the contoured chest would fit nicer. I REALLY like that I can get the first ome in pink ;) I have used Tough-1s in the past but know plenty of people that have issues with them. Anybody have experience with either of these blankets?

| I have bought schneiders for about 10 years now. They are my favorite blankets.. they have gone up in price since i started buying them but I had two that lasted for almost 4 years being turned out full time. no rips.. totally water proof, warm.. I support them! |

Location: Somewhere between raising hell and Amazing Grace | I am happy with my schneiders but I think if I could I would do weatherbeeta first. The reason I went with schneiders again this year is because i know first hand that they will stand behind their warranties. They even replaced a sheet for me although we were able to determine it was out of warranty. |

As much as I would love to that is more money then I can spend right now, unless on sale its about $100 shipped.
I was also told the Weatherbeetas fit a little larger in the chest.... I'm worried about spending all that money and it being too big on her chestlike the one she has on now.... |

I always have trouble fitting my bay mare. Both weatherbeeta and schneiders have fit her very well. |

Location: TN | I have the first one in medium weight and a sheet. I love it! My gelding is thick so the Euro fit is perfect for him since he has freedom of movement. He is hard on blankets but it has held up well over the last year. It's well worth the money. |

Location: ND | I have the 2nd blanket you posted, it's going into it's 2nd winter & so far is holding up well. I have other Schneiders blankets though that the inside lining has torn easily on horses that really don't even mess around. I've got a couple Weathabeeta's they 2 have held up well. But my absolute favorite is these, I've got 2 of them going on 6+ years of heavy use in the winters & they're still holding up great. http://www.rockinmtack.com/Wrangler-Horse-Blankets-s/7584.htm |

Location: California | Alright so good news!
I found the weatherbeeta taka for $110-$120.... Either 180g fill or 350g fill... Now my worry is that their "medium" with only 180g fill wont be heavy enough (my mare is fine with a medium weight all winter long) but the 350g fill might be too heavy... Any input on that part? |

I would not spend that much on a 600D. make sure you are getting your moneys worth.
I love the SSTACK blankets and weatherbeeta, both are great choices if you get the right blanket. |

LOL that was what I was going to say too. I've bought the cheap blankets from Schneiders and they do not hold up. I've still got the first Weatherbeeta TAKA I ever bought and it is 11 years old this year! And still getting used! |

Location: 31 lengths farms | All I used for years until they seemed to quit making them was the Viking Turnout by Schnieders. For the money and when you have 3 blankets to buy you can't beat them. My horses are turned out so the blankets get used hard and they have stayed waterproof for a good 4-5 years with not the best care by me ever, LOL!!! We use them, rinse them off come spring and throw them in a blanket box for the summer. When I had one horse I did buy a Rambo and I'd love to be able to afford them for all my horses but that just isn't feasible for me now. If these are what you can afford they will do the job for you. |

Location: 31 lengths farms | Make sure to spend the little extra to get at least a 1200 denier, do not waste your money on a 600 no matter the brand. |

Location: Illinois | I actually just got one from Schneiders that was leftover from last year for $50 brand new. The 5 different blankets I checked into were backordered 4 months for my size, but they had one left from last year. I ended up with the heavyweight turnout and a neck cover for $100. I like it so far, my horses are in a pasture with trees and it seems to hold up pretty well. However, I do like my Smith Brothers two-tone turnout better as the material seems to be more durable. So far it seems pretty indestructible. Only downfall is it does not have D-rings for neck or hood attachments. But the Teflon coated ripstop outer shell is nearly impossible to destroy and my horse loves to bushwack into places most horses wouldn't go. |
