How far is your drive to work? |

Location: Great NW | I drive 26 miles one way. on good days it is 35 minutes on bad days it can take 1.5 hours. My median time is about 55 minutes each way. the closest I have lived to my work place is just walking out the door - of course I did not get vacation time, health care or retirement. I would not trade the place we have now just to live closer to work but it sure would be nice to just take a lunch hour to go check on things every once in a while :(. I have driven as far as 50 miles one way to work - would NEVER do that again! |

Location: NE Oklahoma | My commute is about 15 miles each way. Takes 20-30 minutes depending on if I get stopped by a train on my way in. Love the short commute so I can get home before it gets dark at night. |

Location: ohio-in my own little world with pretty ponies :) | An hour and a half!!! Holy cow! The place were going to look at this weekend is about 45 mins. Right now my drive is about 15. But it won't be forever. We're hoping that in the next couple years I can stop working and stay home to ride soo I guess it's not bad. Just seems long compared to mine now |

1.5 hours is a short commute compared to those who suffer through the ills of public transit. They live closer than I do, but it typically takes them longer to get to work. |

Location: Never in one place long | I wouldn't have more than a half hr drive one way, with all the time it would take to drive any further I'd be spending more $ on fuel and less time for my family and horses. I'd just be patient if you can afford to wait. |

| Used to be 45 minutes one way. It didn't seem bad at the time, and I got used to it. BUT I now live 15 minutes away....not sure I could go back to driving that far again! |

Location: Blissfully happy Giants fan!!! | 7 minutes from my house. Hubby it is more like 15 minutes.
In my defense I went almost two years making a 150 mile one way (300 miles daily) for work. It was worth it because of the money savings and I could work 6:30-3:30 but it wasn't feasible to do it long-term.
Also, we will upgrade from our new house in a couple of years. My husband flat refuses to have more than a 30 minute commute. |

| I drive 42 miles each way. Sometimes it takes 45 min, other days (like Monday morning) it took 1.5 hours. I don't mind driving long distances, but wish I didn't have to deal with the traffic. |

Location: ohio-in my own little world with pretty ponies :) | Especially at the times I go to work(10 am and 11) most people are already at work so there isn't much traffic where I would have to drive so it may be a little faster.
Were going to look at it on Sunday. Its a crazy good deal with everything and more that we want....so I think it's worth it. |

| I am now 5 miles from work and it takes me 5-7 minutes in the am and maybe 8-15 minutes to get home. (I don't know why traffic going home is worse, but it is.) I am truly blessed...I used to work at a place that was 21 miles from home...not a bad commute, but up a mountain one way with a GMC Suburban 2500 4x4. I was usually left over with $49 to "play" with for 2 weeks once the bills and gas were paid.
I'm so glad I made the change. The closest I've ever worked to my house was training horses for the lady next door...but there was no healthcare, overtime, sick pay, etc. |
