Location: Montana | I'm looking for a good inexpensive barrel saddle brand. I have my good Courts saddle, but am looking for a saddle I could use as a back up, "just in case" saddle that I won't have to spend an arm and a leg on, and something I could use on a young horse that I wouldn't feel too bad if something happened to it. I've looked at used saddles, and I'd be more than happy to buy something used, but don't have any clue on the lesser expensive brands as my taste follows (but doesn't always allow) the more $$$ brands, LOL. Any and all opinions and ideas are appreciated! Thanks! |

You can buy a plain one for pretty cheap. I like the way they ride and they have a good tree underneath them not a piece of junk from Mexico. |

| I also have expensive taste but a not so accommodating budget...and I LOVE the Triple Creeks! They are in the same caliber as the more expensive factory made saddles. In fact, I am going to order a new one here in the next few weeks! |

I LOVED my Circle Y saddle...it was still in good condition when I sold it, but it sadly outgrew me (I've lost about 8 pounds over the last year and went down a saddle seat size ). Thanks guys! |

They want top dollar (many list for almost and over $2,000.) and when people go to sell them they lose on the average over $700.00 for a saddle that is about a year old.
My point is...if you go with a Circle Y buy used..LOL

Location: Monticello, AR | Corriente!! I have won 5 or 6 and they do great. Has fit every horse I ever put them on. Are they the best leather in the world? No, but for the money....$550 for a brand new saddle...it is WELL worth the money, in my humble opinion. Good luck! |

Thanks, I have not priced saddles in a long time. I bought this saddle back in 2003 or 2005, so it has miles on it. Just like our cars, I never look at the new, just the used. |

Hang on to yours as they don't make them like that anymore. They use to be a really nice made saddle.
I bought a 3 year old JBN that was suppose to be in excellent shape. It was the biggest piece of junk and the tree was crooked. You could see how the piece that goes in front and under the fender was real worn on side and not the other. I sent it back and it was the first time I have ever sent a saddle back and I've owned too many saddles to count. |

In 1976 I got a youth Circle Y saddle for my birthday from my daddy. Everytime we went to the tack shop I'd go sit on that saddle on display drooling over it. Low and behold a few months later it was in our living room with a bow on it. I rode the crap out of that saddle as a little girl, both my kids rode the heck out of it and it's now used on colts and waiting for grand kids to arrive and use it. Hopefully thats not for a while. They definately don't make then like they used to. You can't beat the construction and leather on mine. I would love a Lisa Lockhart but am a little leary of the quality. JMO. |

I picked up a 1984 Circle Y cutting/reining saddle recently. Cleaned and oiled it and it definitely needs more oil, but it's in great shape. Can't wait to ride in it! |
