Neat Freak Posts: 11216 Location: Wonderful Wyoming	depends on how old and what kind of broncy. My 2yr old show horse has been ridden by me sporatically. Once in Oct and he was a doll. Once a couple weeks ago and he bucked after I saddled him (no dropping head and no kicking out and no squeals) but was great when I rode him. Then just a few days ago he spooked at something in the round pen, my hand/reins?? and when he jumped I lost a stirrup and squeezed him. He went to doing that high lope/buck but not dropping head or kicking out. I was getting out of position in a quick hurry so bailed, kept the rein in my hand and stopped him. Round penned his butt for a few minutes and hopped back on and had a great ride. What he is doing is being a colt that hasn't been worked steady and he's in the corral on free choice grass hay and Ultium. It isn't bothering me yet. If they squeal and buck me out of the pen. I usually only give them a little of that before I quit them. They enjoy it too much. If they do that when I am on them after dripping wet from being worked first, I also send down the road. Location: Unfortunately OR	She has had seven rides on her...the first two rides were really good and then she had about a month off.....we started working her again and she has had five rides in a row...we have done tons of ground work and also do it before riding her....she was awesome the first three in a row but last night and tonight wants to be humpy but he gets her stopped before she gets going ( because she can buck!) the guy I got her from said her mom was a bronc and is shocked how far we have come with her so it makes me wonder if maybe its how she will be. I try not to let it influence my thoughts about her but it does...

Neat Freak Posts: 11216 Location: Wonderful Wyoming	If you can get it stopped before it starts, that is a good sign. Weather can really get one going. Both times mine bucked we had a nasty storm blow in that night. It is heriditary (sp?) though, so if momma had it in her nature, this one may too. I would give her a few more chances...but if she ever cheap shots ya, when you are getting on or off or she stumbles and you get loose and she bucks then, I'd send her packing. Just my opinion, but they won't ever quit that, the smart ones are too smart.
