well i like his pedigree I know MOST (not ALL, so simmer down everyone) people on here wont because they wont look twice at anything that is not packed to the gills with AAA or AAAT lines or has dash ta fame, frenchmans guy, firewater flit etc. But i like the "old time" breeding that is so hard to find now a day. His pedigree is packed with good, solid, go all day, last forever, do anything on type of horses and thats what I LIKE to see in a pedigree. Plus he has three bars on his papers, you dont see that very often anymore. Cant wait to see a picture of this boy.

I tell you, Bingo, I would give that pedigree a try, but I don't like his price nor do I like his hind end. I would not pay $2000 for him...jmo.

Thank you. Unfortunately i dont have the type of coin that the big names require. Maybe some day ill cross my mare with one as we have a Firewater Flit son or grrandson standing in AZ. But i love the old names. My mare is also Hancock, driftwood and dash for cash. She's a die hard, try anything, never question, go all day kinda girl.

I attached a link to his ad...... call the lynching mob, its craigslist!!!!

I dont like his hind end either. I was hoping it was due to camera angle..... aside from that, the seller already came down to $1300. Not sure if that makes it sound any better?

I wouldn't pay that for him either. It could be the camera angle. The way it's shot, his head looks bigger than his butt. There are nicer horses for that price or less right now.

While I'm a very big fan of cowbred horses (a majority of my herd are the cowbred ones), I am a big fan of driftwood bred horses and I like the doc bar on there......but I'm going to agree with jennifer, I'm not liking the way his hip looks. Maybe ask them for better conformation photos to help us get a better look at the way he is built

The older foundation lines I do like on this horse are waaay back. The Three bars is the only thing noteworthy up close. Looks like an average horse build wise. You could certainly try him and then make up your mind. Some of those types are diamonds in the rough, but I wouldn't pay 1300 for him either.

Just as another note, my husband and I found a nice broodmare prospect who is also broke and bred much better. Mommy and daddy are also performers. We are not paying anywhere near that much for her.

He looks like a big boy got good bone, but the picture is not good at all, his back looks to long for what I like, dont have much of a butt, but with his resting his foot its hard to tell. I would not pay that much for him, if I was looking for another horse I would pass, but like I said this picture is not good, tell them to send you a better picture of him.

It may be the angle of the camera.  I would either ask for more pictures.  or go look at him for that price, you could always negotiate on price.

I appreciate the information. I will see if she can send more pictures at different angles. Just out of curiosity, what do you guys think would be a good price for him? Granted if a different picture would show a better booty.... im not necessarily looking for another horse, just thought if he was decent that it may be worthwhile. But im not into adding mouths to feed at $17 a bale.

They say hes broke good, does he know anything? If just a trail horse i would maybe offer 1000.00 but that still seems to much, just so hard to say without seeing him in person and riding him. With the price of hay in your parts I would not offer to much

I don't mind his pedigree. But based on that picture, I'd say no. If you can't get better pictures, can you go see him in person? That way, you don't get the funky angle you can in pictures.

I know with my gelding we bought last fall, we stole him in the sale because he was so underweight. He doesn't even look like the same horse now.

So if it were me, I'd ask for better pictures or just go look at him.

Yes hes located only about 20-30 mins from me. We are just in the midst of a windy, snowy storm. So i am holding off on going to see him. Ive requested more pictures, but i doubt she will be going out to snap pictures in this mess.

I forgot to add, hes 16.1 hands. Hes not trained in any specific discipline. Shes trail ridden him and did some english pleasure stuff on him. I wont know what he know until i ride him. I dont take people at their word these days. Lol.

Boy, some really nice horses passed in our LQHBA Fall Mixed sale for a bit less.

For instance, this mare sold for $1000. She was very nice looking.

Is there a website for this sale? I might drive all the way there to get some good prospects for those prices!
