| The Day you have lost your purpose and have no answer to the question. "Why?"
I got hit by identity theft 3 years ago, for some reason, this really took me to a new low. I have worked all my life and in an instant it seem all my hard work wasn't worth it. I really fought with a deep depression I have never had before. wondered why God? haven't I been faithful? I lost my purpose to fight.
This is the challenge of finding meaning in your life. This can be a crisis of faith or a feeling of losing your compass or purpose in this life. What's the point? What's your purpose? It's that feeling of being insignificant. Time is finite, and you have a limited amount of time to make an impact. What are you going to do? If you have lost your connection to meaning in your life , you need to examine this area and get plugged into something that will stabilize when nothing around you makes any sense. This could be anything form a new foundation in your faith to devoting yourself to a cause you have always wanted to join to just being the best, dad, mentor, employee, daughter, or friend you can be.
When you face your challenges that come into your life, you watch yourself come through the other side, you feel exhilarated and empowered by it. You can hold your head up even when everything around you is falling down.
If you have lived a faith based or spiritual life, you may say that you will pray to God when a crisis hits and He will save you. That makes perfect sense, but you also have to get busy yourself. I can tell you that as somebody who embraces a faith based life , I am also very active in using all my resources to help myself. My point is that no matter where your strength comes from, your job is to kick, fight, scratch, and claw for your best position in this world. As a gift from God , you have resources, that are going to be called into play especially on those given days and what I want you to do is learn how to mobilize them.
I made me a notebook, police reports, affidavits, made calls log names and dates, I changed my DL, I flagged my ss , I canceled my credit cards, my bank accounts, shut off my computer, canceled my home phones, I got on phone to police in other counties, made citizen crime reports in the counties my identity was being used. it took two years to get al the creditors they had used off my back, I had been so sad, then I GOT MAD! went to district attorney, and pleaded for help to show me what I needed to do, beside police just making reports and filing them.
I did get through this and it changed me , but it also made me trust God more, and learn that all things I worked so hard to obtain was nothing, for it all can be taken, replaced , but my soul, spirit and purpose will be forever, FOR ETERNITY !

Location: Montana | This really hit home, LJ. You have described how I feel right now, and I'm trying to pray and search my way out of it or through it. Because I know everyone's life is different, there is no pat answer to any one problem or question or purpose. You are a very strong woman to come through this and to tell about it and to encourage people with your experiences. You are very much a blessing to BHW, and I'm sure to all people in your life.
