Location: Mountains of VA | O.k., so I'm in love with Stingray as far as her size, style, conformation, etc., not that I want to make an offer on her. BUT IF she were put on the market before the NFR started, what would be her price range?? Or any other horse of similiar credentials, conformation, running style, etc.??
Would really love to find a tobiano mare just like Stingray....... |

Agreed, a horse with such athletic ability and talent....not to mention heart like stingray, probably would range hundreds of thousands of dollars....if she were to ever sell LOL

Location: Oklahoma | I'm pretty sure if stingray ever went up for auction she'd be the highest selling barrel horse ever I'm sure someone would pay close to half a million for her, and probably a Brazilian. I believe miss fortune and fool stills holds the highest selling barrel horse record at 327,000 I believe. I'm not sure so don't quote me. |

The value may not be reflected in the cost... Some people form a bond with a horse that can take a TON of money to pry apart.. |

Location: oklahoma | I don't think she'd sell her. I also think that most people have one or two a lifetime that'd never leave out of all the others. Pure speculation but I imagine her and her dad have a business partnership on horses, but what do I know?
 not much |

| I was at Potter's place 2 years ago and Mel said Stingray will be in the broodmare pasture when she's done competing. Cracked me up cause he said it in the most non-chalant sort of way, like she was "just another" horse. I highly doubt Stingray will ever have a new zip code. |

| I think that the black dash for perks horse that broke the standard arena record in brazil sold for $425,000??? But I may be wrong, there was a news article about it awhile back. I also heard Mary Walker was offered 1 mill for Latte and turned it down.. from a guy that will spend any kind of money on horses. I don't know if either of those are true.......... but that's what I heard! I'm sure the Brazlillians would give $500,000 or more for stingray or a horse as well known as her... no one in America would be outbidding them, whatever she went for |

Location: Ky | I know what the Brazilles, {sp}, paid for a barrel horse this past summer and it's way up there. I don't know if it's the horse she has at the NFR though.
Probably not at liberty to say but it's in the ballpark of what's been mentioned here. |

| What would the cost of a NFR calibar such as Bo (before he won two rounds) Cowboy, or Sabrina Ketchm's horse be? A horse that made it to the NFR but doesn't quite have a name yet? |

| Horses before the NFR - 75-100,000 I'd say.
Horses after the NFR - 150-250,000 or more depeding on rounds won etc.
Or in Stingray's case - PRICELESS
What did Hot Shot sell to Steinhoff's for after he went to the NFR?? Or did they buy him before that....I can't remember. |

I have absolutely no idea if it is true, but the story I heard on more than one occasion isthat HotShot's asking price was $150,000 but that due to some stuff found on pre-purchase exam the final selling price ended up being $80.000. And every bit of what I just wrote could be 100% non-true gossip!!!! |
