Location: TN | Oh my goodness I can't take it! lol He's into it, probably because of the bikini barrel race I had to leave the room rather than get sucked into all the fake drama. If they want a real rodeo girls show they need to follow the PROFESSIONAL girls around, not these yahoos. |

Location: My own little world :) | I totally agree with you! My husband thinks its stupid and doesn't want to watch it but he gives me enough crap about dumb barrel racers..all in fun...he knows I'm good at it so he just plays around ;) But I've watched the first two episodes and feel super embarrassed that that is what the less knowledgable in the nation will think we are all like.
Not only the drama but I love how them make it seem like commuting to rodeos is a relaxed lush lifestyle...like we all go stay at vineyards and show up to rodeos three days before they start and just sit around, drink booze, and flirt with boys. In reality I think most barrel racers cruise in for the rodeo the day of if not right before and hope to leave and be on the road as soon as possible to get to the next....we gotta make that money if you know what I mean!! We don't have time to sit and lolly gag all day!
I was also a little disappointed in the way even the girls that I knew of previously behaved in the show. Why can't there be a respectable lady there that shows how hard we all work at it and be gracious about it...not being a backstabbing brat. Just saying....ok thats my vent! |

Location: Arkansas | I could do without the language but at least they bleep most of it out.. LOL A&E wasn't going for the hard working serious barrel racer.... The Cosby Show format's not what they were going for either.. They were shooting for more of The Jersey Shore or The Hills with horses added to the mix.. Believe me, they didn't make this show for rodeo people or barrel racers to watch.. This is for folks that know nothing about rodeo.. It's a new show with a whole different subject matter that's unfamiliar to most people.. May actually get some new barrel racing fans!! Most people will watch it for the drama and end up liking the actual sport! "Maybe." LOL I saw a guy post on Darcy's page that knew nothing about our sport but, said he did watch both episodes and really thought it was interesting.. You have to remember, most people have NO IDEA what barrel racing is. At least it may broaden the fan base. Right now, we are looked at as a bunch of animal abusers to the outside world..They have no idea how hard we work to do what we do.. Do you realize how boring a show would be if they actually followed one of us around for a day or two?? These girls, even though they party and act stupid for the entertainment aspect of the show, at least take care of their horses. That's just an after thought but it's obvious that they are taken care of by looking at them.. |

Location: Down the Gravel Road near the Missouri River, SD | My son, ever the fashion/social critic, beat me to the TV on Friday morning to watch this show..the same guy that sat there and kept saying "are you kidding me???" I had to laugh. Darcy will get her short lived claim to fame, still own a bad @ss horse, have more money then we will all know what to do with and probably move onto bigger and better things next year..like NASCAR.. |

The people involved on the back end of this show are the same folks that made The Hills....so that is why I was like "What is this, Laguna Beach?" when I was watching it |

| The original cast of the show included a gay barrel racer and a mother who barrel raced to deal with her son getting cancer. A&E didn't like the idea of it being real and made it into hot bodies and booze. It only has six episodes so I doubt it'll be around for long. |

Location: Texas! | The Hills was 100% fake so is this completely scripted as well? Would make sense with how horrible their "acting" is. We watched it, myself, my boyfriend and my dad were just in awe at how utterly stupid it all was. Taking days to get to a rodeo to sit for another couple days and just hang out and drink? |

His name is Dashin Medic and he was bought from Della Wright and she did not pay $200k for him, that was entirely for the show. He is, however, a true 1D horse and can run with horses from the top 15 (. He has clocked 16s on the standard pattern (at the Trac in Pasco) and low 17s on outdoor standard patterns. She's had him for about 2 years now, I think.
Darcy is actually a nice person. The show is fake. From what I remember of Jessica from WAHSET she's nice too.
16.952 on standard pattern:

It's on another thread but Darcy's horse is Dashin Medic and he was trained by Della Wright - the horse is legit. |
