Location: Hogwarts | Can you guys tell me the bad things about this line? All the horses I dream of ever owning seem to have Frenchman's guy in them and I love looking at him because he's just so pretty, and don't even get me started on Crown Royal Frenchman. He's one fine horse. But I want to know the bad things that people have noticed about horses Frenchman's Guy in them. |

Location: Hogwarts | I want a Frenchman's guy bred horse so bad. I could get used to that because my horse, he's a sweetheart don't get me wrong, but you have to teach him something 10000 times before he's like ohhhhhhhh I know what you want me to do now.

Isn't that the truth! It took me 2 years to turn mine around after he fell into the wrong hands before I bought him. The end result is more than worth the time it took but they certainly aren't ones to forget, or forgive easily.
I've got 2, a grandson & a granddaughter & they're so much alike it's scary. Only difference is I bought the filly as a baby so she didn't come to me messed up. They are both crazy athletic, have a very similar snappy turning style & quick stride. They do not like to be picked at, they're the type that want to be shown their job & allowed to do it. |

I don't know how close to FG the filly Kinsey is breaking is, but she was mishandled. Fixing that is going to take some time. She learned a bad lesson about people and may never be all the way over it. |

Location: Never in one place long | yep I agree, have a FG grandaughter and she def picks up very quick so if you teach her something WRONG... she does NOT forget it.
She is VERy cinchy but I think that is just her. I LOVE this mare, she is smooth, athletic and very sweet. |

Ditto they are SMART!
Probably my all time favorite bloodline.
I've got a son of FG and several grand get......and a 3 year old daughter that I am in love with.
We have a mare in foal to FG due to foal in April and we have another mare booked to FG for this year. |

Location: Desert Land | I have a weanling daughter of First Down French out of a Casady Casanova mare I lost this fall. She is very cute, nicely put together, but she has be stand-offish. The first couple months of her life I had a hard time with her wanting to be caught, haltered, handeled, etc. Now she is really good about being caught and handled, has been tied a little and did very well. Had to shave her stomach to get pictures of a belly spot she has to submit to AQHA and I thought she was going to lose it, but surprisingly handled it very well. The only thing we are having a hard time with now is getting her feet done. She is fine with her feet being picked up, picked out, but when the farrier comes, she is a little nutty. She is definiatly that mare that you have to make something her idea or she's not into it. |

| I've only had experience with the one I have, but it's does seem like she is too smart for het own good! The mare she's out of is a certified witch, but athletic and gritty. Mine is 4, but is just now starting to fill out, so is way behind the other horses, as far as futurity ready.Her dam is Rocket Wrangler/ Raise Your Glass bred. She's only had a couple months riding. But, you show her one time, she's got it. Move on. She has a great analytical mind, and a lot of "think" in her. I hope to haul her a little next year, and rope a little on her. I won't push her to go to the futurities though. I want her for the long run, and could see her trying to overachieve, and hurt herself. I am really liking the mind on her though, and she did'nt get that from her momma, it was Guy. She has never bucked or thrown a fit, but will turn out from under you, and I have to remember to take a deep seat when I say "whoa", as she will stop right now! I just hope I can run her and stay with her! She may have to go to my daughter to run! |

| They are super smart ! By far my favorite line though, I have a daughter out of a Packin Sixes mare, a gdaughter by Fab out of a otoe mare (sold her a few months ago), a gdaughter by Famous Guy out of a Hot Colours mare. I also have my DFP mare in foal to FG and my Merganser daughter in foal to ASNY for 2014 foals and I have two breedings to ASNY. So yes you could say I like them LOL 
I really don't think there is anything "bad" about them all mine have been very willing, in your pocket, athletic, and gorgeous to look at horses. My FG daughter and the fab mare are both the only two I have old enough to ride and they both are my style of horses. I do think in most cases they need run on the dams side. We can work cattle,rope, or take them to the barrel race and they are good at it. We are hoping to maybe send mine to one or two futuritys but not pushing for it because I want her for the long haul. They get bored easily and need something to do. I have had people tell me they can be broncs but none of mine have even offered to buck maybe a crow hop if feeling good but nothing more.
High seller at BFA was a daughter of FG this past weekend and not to mention Bo is by Frenchmans Feature and just set a new arena record at NFR |

Location: Crowder, OK | They are absolutely wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have one crossed on Jet Deck/Johnny Dial and he was sooo easy to train and he was consistant and solid from day one! he spoiled me rotten!!!!! have never in my life sat on a horse w/more heart and try!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! his younger bro is out of a shawne bug/johnny boone mare and he was alot more challenging, lol......hes been a late bloomer but is by far the most atheletic horse Ive ever ridden....hes also the best horse Ive ever had, so the time waiting has been well worth it. he was easy to train, but hes been kinda bull headed/stubborn/ and he bucks! now, w/that said, I was told he coulda got some of those traits from his momma's side. both of them have been sooo good to me, Ive been blessed to have them!!!!!!! I would take another in a heartbeat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Me too! I bred a mare to him in - oh dear - 1998. That's shocking to me it was that long ago.
I wonder if the foal would be fast enough crossed with a Biankus mare. |

| I am riding a 3 year old daughter out of a Special Effort dtr. Like everyone else said, TOO smart. I've never rode anything as soft and sensitive as she is. The only thing I "dislike" about her is how light sided she is. All I have to do is think about putting my calf or heel into her and she flies over. Not a bad problem to have, but it's been an adjustment for me! She has a 'tude, but its a good kind of attitude. Kind of like "Hey give me something to do so I can show you how good I can do it"
I've only been on mine a few months, but she definitely falls into the category where you only have to show her something once. I don't know how everyone elses compare, but it doesnt seem like mine wants to be drilled on.
She has that typical Frenchmans Guy "reach" and I don't think I am going to have to worry about having not enough speed with her dams side. |

My study breaks during finals have been looking at Frenchman's Guy foals and studs and dreaming about the day I'll be able to get one. Everything you guys have told me just wants me want one more. |

| Totally agree with WrapSnap! Super smart and retains everything shown...good and bad! I have a own daughter and love her but because she was in the wrong hands at an early age she is a broodmare at 5. She is totally content with it too. Lol |

| I know they are atheletic, but i know some of them it seems not to,have quite enough gass like some firewatwater flits. Talk to me my mare was a 1-d mare at the big shows she was a couple holes out. Like the last year i showed at nbha world in augusta she was 42nd out of 700 head. Now that is perry she is retired, i think shemwould have done better with that set up. I want to breed her to something as nic as she is and it needs a good daddy and a good momma. there are a lot of stallions out there, by great names but they dont talk about mommas. As far as sons give me suggestions of your favorite fg stallion and why and if you know they have produced. Trying to find a date for,my girl my weanie is a son of cc. Of course i like the ff horses but i am told i might need more speed that is why i bred to speed. Just trying to,figure what to do.
