| I bought a pair of ferrini boots off a website. I have always wore them and always liked them. Well after I received my boots a month late I tried them on and the cloth in the boots are ripped up and bunched up on the edges.. I called the shop I ordered them from and they want me to pay for shipping to return them, shipping for my new ones AND 10% of my purchase cost to restock the item.. What would you do. |

Location: OK | Ask to talk to a manager. Usually that will get your shipping paid for. Don't be rude or crazy. Just tell them that when ordering boots in the future, since you don't know what condition Ferrinis will arrive in, you will be buying somewhere else.
10%, heck no. They should give you some kind of coupon or something for your trouble. I wouldn't pay that shipping either.....
People like that make me mad.

| Thank you.. I was shocked when they were telling me what all I would have to pay for.. Shipping is 25 each way. So 50$ there plus 10%. Gesh!
I'm going to try again after the holidays. |

I agree 25 for shipping seems to be a bit much, and I think they should be paying both ways. Got to watch some of these places, yes there is a few that has seconds around here. |

Even Priority isn't $25. They are charging you a handling fee as well. JMO |

If you drive to a store (Walmart) etc. and buy something. Then take it back to return, are they responsible for your time and gas? Of course not.
Everyone should read and Understand the return policies BEFORE purchasing at a brick and mortar store or an internet site.

You have had the boots for over a month now and are talking about waiting for two more weeks....
Not a great idea. Go to the web site and read their return policy. You may very well be over the time limit now.

I had to laugh at this one.....because....I purchased a microwave from Walmart....got the box home and it was a USED microwave in the box....called the store and YES....they gave me a $10 gift card for my trouble of returning it and getting a new one....because....it was THEIR fault......same thing with this situation. If they sold her "defective" boots or are knowingly selling seconds....they ARE responsible! Good customer service requires a little give from the retailer.
However, I do agree that she has probably waited too long and I certainly would not wait another two weeks...... |

When you purchase an item in person at a store, you have the opportunity to physically inspect it before deciding to purchase it. When buying online, you trust them to send you non-defective merchandise, and if what they send you is messed up, then the purchaser shouldn't be responsible for paying for shipping to fix the company's mistake. |

You are correct...they arrived a month late....I still would not wait to send them back or to get "some" satisfaction from the company. The sooner....the better.... |

Anytime I buy something while shopping for it and I am AT the store, I do try it on to make sure it all fits, are if something that can be damage I pull it out of the box to make sure its not broken. There is a few things that had to be returned for some reason, but just did it the next time I had to go back to town, no biggie on my part. I have bought a pair of boots from a mail order and I got the wrong size called them up they send me a return label and shipped the right ones back to me all at their own cost, I was willing to pay for the shipping because it was my mistake, but nope they payed both ways, great company and I still shop with them. And I think this should be the way for the OP, just dont wait to long to do this.
