| Hi!!
I am a working wife, and have been considering buying a Chevy Tahoe for my everyday vehicle. I know they are capable of towing moderate loads, and have a friend who occasionally pulls her bumper pull with a Suburban. My husband has a Dodge 3500 for the long hauls. I would be needing to haul a loaded 2 horse aluminum on occasion with the Tahoe.
Do any of you pull with a Tahoe/Suburban? What have been your experiences in doing so?

Location: Midwest | I am not really comfortable with hauling with anything less than a 3/4 ton...
It could probably do it, but it will tear it up.
Also, I prefer something which I know can stop the trailer in the event that the trailer brakes go out. JMO
People haul with SUVs, but I would prefer not to myself...I really even would not want to haul with a 1/2 ton truck either.

Location: Oklahoma | I used to pull a steel 2-horse bumper pull with a Tahoe. Had no problems, whatsoever, but did not pull up any mountains or large hills. |

| Pulled a two horse for years with my Tahoe. Never had a problem, did a 1400 mile trip to pick up a horse one time. I wish I still had it! |

I pull with a Ford Excursion, a heavy 3/4 ton. I am bigger than most pickups I see pulling smaller trailers. It came from the factory set up to pull large loads. It also has a V10 lots of power. |

i was referring to the folks i see hauling with explorers and such... i would have no prob hauling with an excursion
people do it....just not my cup of tea. I used to haul with a half ton and it tore the truck up a bit. |

Location: N Texas | As long as you get a V8, you shouldn't have issues. A V6 should be able to pull a tiny 2-horse trailer, but it's not ideal. I haven't pulled with a Tahoe, but I did have an F150 V8 that I pulled a three horse bumper pull with and didn't have issues. I definitely wouldn't have hauled more than that, but it got the job done for many years.
I wouldn't hesitate to haul two horses with an equipped Tahoe. |

| I pulled for a few years with my Tahoe. I have a Chevy Silverado now but I liked the way my Tahoe handled better. |

Location: Memphis, TN | I pull locally with my Tahoe all the time. I have a two horse calico. We have a Silverado but my husband usually takes off hunting in it so I take the Tahoe and the kids. I'm not sure I would pull with it fully loaded for a long distance but it does great for going up the road. |

HAHA it just seems so conveient! I love a dually, but during the week when I have to run errands its heck to get one in and out of the bank and other places. My trailer is an Exiss slant load with a tack room on the front. I have been REALLY wanting a Tahoe but was a tab sceptical about pulling with it. Thank you for your reply! |

Location: MT | I pulled a 3 horse steel bumper with my Tahoe for a while. In strong winds or going up steep hills it didn't do well. I didn't haul very long distances with it. Also, going highway speed I hit a big bump and that trailer threw the Tahoe around. I kept it going down the road, but it was a scary experience and I think God was my co-pilot. I traded my Tahoe after that experience. |

| Double check on the new Tahoe's and see if you can get a towing pkg on them that has a larger radiator, oil cooler, and transmission cooler with a factory towing hitch already installed. Also the frame and suspension system are going to be very soft for city slickers .. not meant to do any work ...
... go with a quad cab pickup with at least a 318 cubic inch engine or bigger ... with the towing pkg ... be careful of all the new 1/2 ton pickups ... most are now cars with truck bodies for city people .... the F150 has gotten to be a joke ... they added big wheels and tiny engines for short guys with big egos ... lol... |

| Couple of thing if you do pull with a tahoe, make sure you change the tranny fluid regular and have transmission oil cooler on the vehicle. Also if you need a little more power when you pull your trailer it should give you better fuel milage. |

| I don't pull with my Tahoe but I would feel comfortable doing so if I needed to and had a bumper pull...that's one reason I bought a Tahoe as my everyday vehicle...with the thought that if I wanted to downsize I would stil be able to haul horses. I know several people that haul 2 horse trailers with their Tahoes with no problem whatsoever. As a matter of fact, my friends that pull with Tahoes say they seem to do it pretty effortlessly...the newer Tahoes at least. I wouldn't think going bigger than a 2 horse would be good, though. |

Location: Southwest Minnesota | I have a GMC Yukon which is the same thing as a Tahoe. I pull a 16ft bumper hitch old stock trailer with it but rarely with more than a couple of my fat boys in it at a time. It pulls okay, but gets jostled around fairly easily. Also suck gas like a beeyotch pulling the trailer. You can do it, but I wouldn't recommend a steady diet of it. Make sure you have good heavier duty tires on the Tahoe too. The trailer really makes my truck squat and mine has the tow package on it too.
