| I can't believe there is any question about men barrel racing or pole bending. In our area, Indiana, Kentucy, Illionis, there are many men doing this. In fact in our area, there are several AQHA, NBHA, IBRA, NPBA champions and most are men. |

Location: OK | What's the deal. I worked most of my life in a "Man's World", I did the job as well as the men, just maybe went about it a bit different. So what if the guys are a little stronger they also usually weigh more and I sure won't admit they can ride any better than we women. In Oklahoma there are still more female than male barrel racers at the local shows but for the most part the males are well accepted. |

They are definately in the minority around here. Â
Maybe as riders. They sure top the charts as trainers though. Check out who trained (& even bred) most of the top horses in the world, including the NFR. |

The question was about men running barrels and poles so that is why I answered they are in the minority "around here" which is in South Dakota. Nothing was said about trainers and breeders - that wasn't what the OP was questioning. I thought she wanted to know about how many men there were running in different parts of the country. My bad |

| I am from southern calif and there are about 15 guys to run to every 100 women. But everyone is accepted no problems. I did go to a few races in WY once and it did NOT go oververy well. Cat calls and homophobic comments from the Audience. |

Location: North Dakota | They're definitely a minority anywhere I've lived! And the ones that do run usually aren't a competitive threat in the least because they're dads/ husbands/ boyfriends that somehow ended up running and have no horsemanship skills. |

I agree.....I had to laugh as much at this one as the "other" one who made the "blanket" statement that the MEN dominate the sport....... |

Male jockeys/trainers dominate the NBHA world.
Look it up.
Who have been the past few NBHA world champions? Are they male or female?
Talmadge, Brett, Kebo, Pete, Lance, Adam, Add, Jamie, Ducky, the Chouest boy, Steve, Heath, etc.
Read & COMPREHEND before you respond. Just saying. |
