| I have one it is the wide fit. It is a nice saddle the only thing I don't like about it is the freedom of swing in the stirrups. |

Location: In the Hills of Texas | Make sure you are able to try one before you buy one. I tried a JBN Circle Y and it was the biggest piece of crap I've ever tried and there are some people on here like them. Seems they are saddles that you love or hate and no in between. I ended up with a Jackie Jatzula and I felt I had gone from a junker to a Cadillac. I can pick it a part but IMO..It rides heads above the JBN. |

| I have one and absolutely love it! Now if I can just ride like Lisa and my horse runs like Louie i will be all set. Lol! Seriously, I tried at least 10 different saddles on my horse and this was the only one that fit. No break in time, stirrups were pre turned and fit like a glove for me. Horse quit being cinchy, quit pulling back at trailer and went to winning! Still love my Carl Ammerman but this did the trick on my mare and sits well for me too. |

Location: MT | I sure like mine. My MIL tried mine, like it, so she got one. She liked riding her's so much, that she got a 2nd one. She said it was the first time in a long time her knees didn't kill her when she got off and it helped ease some of her back problems when riding. I am not sure what she was riding in before that. I think it is comfy and I feel quite balanced in it. |

Exactly why I posted that some love them and some hate them. LOL
I'm just praying after some time..I will be able to get back into my Caldwell. |

Location: Stillwater, OK | I have one and I really like it. It fits my stocky mare with a long back really well. I bought it for her, and am having problems with her staying sound, so I'm actually selling it. It's a very comfortable saddle and has a super deep seat. It seemed like there was no time needed to break it in. |

Location: In The Snow, AZ | I'm looking into getting one as well. Glad to see positive feedback, seeing as how the price tag is not small IMO. They seem to have great reviews. My question; I use a billy cook SQHB on my mare. It fits her well, but she muscles up a lot in the summer. Would I be better off going with a wide fit or regular fit?Sorry OP for asking on your thread. ;-) |

If you are using a semi quarter horse bars, any problems with the fit? I would suggest contacting circle y directly as when I spoke to the saddle maker who made Lisa's saddle he said circle y wants you to be happy with the saddle and if it doesn't fit send it back and they will work with you. |

Never tried a JBN but my understanding this is a treeless where the Lockhart is a flex tree. |

The difference between the two are the Lockhart is fashioned after the old Circle Y Marlene Eddleman with the flex tree. This is a solid type tree that allows some movement and flex, whereas the JBN is a completely treeless saddle, like a Bob Marshall and the Jackie J's.
I have always riden a Circle Y and have loved everyone but I do have to say that I recently looked at a JBN and did not like the quality. It did appear to be cheaper in the leather quality and seemed like it wasnt put together well.

The lockhart is a flex tree, JBN is a treeless but has swells.
I had a circle Y flex tree I loved (not that model). Never had any major issues with it, it rode great, but was too wide for my horse.
I also had a JBN that I loved, but it was crooked. They are replacing it with a new one (through the warranty with Circle Y). It always felt "off" on the horse, like the saddle was sitting off center. We measured it, and it was longer on one side. (maybe NTO got one like me?)
I have ridden in other circle y's and never had that issue. I think I just got a bad saddle. Can't wait to get my new one. I loved how the JBN felt otherwise. VERY comfy.
If you ride in a SQHB, you need the "regular" tree. The wide tree is a FQHB. |

The leather on mine was super nice. I liked it a lot (minus the fact it was crooked, LOL)
It actually looked very nice in person. |

She usually sweats pretty evenly under. Every now and then she will have a dry spot, maybe the size of a golf ball, on either side of her withers. And that's where my concern lies. I know that those are pressure points where its sitting too snugly. But they usually aren't there. My husband FQHB is a tad too large. So were kind of in between....Thank you for the info about contacting circle y directly. |

I would try the regular first and from my understanding the regular bars have more flare then the "normal" full quarter horse bars
Full quarter horse bars run around 92-95
The regular Lockhart runs 100
The wide is 120
Just for more info
Circle y kaminski regular is 90
Wide is 110
If you like the Lockhart, what a friend of mine did with her Pozzi's is duct taped shims on the underneath if the saddle to fit her horse, this logic could be applied to any saddle |
