I was working with a trainer the other day and she told me that the way my horse is built she won't be a sit and spin horse, I've always ridden that type of horse and I have no idea if I need to start riding her differently. She was telling me that because of the way my horse is built she won't stop running... she also explained that her barrels would look more like a "D" instead of a "V". So my question is, should I be riding this mare differently?

 Just a question, have you asked the trainer how you should ride your mare?

when you say D shape around I think of  Dillion, he goes in what I would imagine to be a "D" shape style....lots of riding keeping forward motion to get your leg past that barrel before asking to turn.....

You might just need to make sure you're giving your horse a bigger pocket than what your used to. And possibly sit down sooner. I don't really want to be telling you what to do, especially since I've never seen you ride or your horse go, but that is what comes to my mind.
