| This all started last winter when we think my mare was kicked by my the neighbors stud that jumped into our fence. It went away in the spring and has been back since it got cold. At the time the vet saw my mare for a broken sinus cavity this spring, it was there just not as noticable as it had been about a month before. He was stumped and asked if she had recently had a foal. She is in heat year round but not as bad as it is this winter. This is what the spot looks like, any ideas in what it is? She is not lame on this leg either, vet checked for that this spring. |

| I had a horse get nerve damage in a shoulder. It was wet like that for a long time. It did get better and practically went away. But, yes that 1st winter his shoulder was always wet. |

| Is it wet from sweat? My gelding had a shoulder injury prior to us owning him, and that spot will sweat a lot even when he is not sweating anywhere else.
Is it wet from your mare standing? If that is urine then I'd be concerned that there is some kind of an infection or something going on causing that amount of discharge, and I'd really be concerned at how it is sideways from her vulva. I have a mare that when cycling will get very messy behind, but it is down her legs, not to the side, and she has an ovary issue that we are dealing with. |

| Vet thought nerve damage also but its only wet when its cold out. Thats why he thought it was weird and said to just watch her for lamness issues. Shes messy down her legs more so on the right leg then left leg. Shes had a exam done for mare issues and nothing was found. Shes on supplements and has no issues other then this spot. |
