Just got redoing our phone accounts and TV account.  For a savings of almost $100.00 a month.  Just a heads up for you all to review all of your accounts annually.....  It's amazing the money you can save buy just asking.

We do that twice a year and always find ways to save!  Even with car insurance!  Great reminder.

We did it with our home and auto insurance early this year.  Saved us $800/ year for the same coverage!

Our 2 yr contract expired with ATT and I got a email last week offering unlimited minutes, data for 55. a month less than what I'm paying now to stay with them and not have a contract.

Thanks for the reminder missroselee,  And for those that don't haul a lot in the winter months back down your mile coverage on those trucks and trailers, it will save you bucks.

Did you see that one on FB for saving weekly?  Starting the 1st week of Jan. put in 1 dollar for week 1, $2 for week 2, $3 for week 3 etc up to the last week you put in $52 and you end up saving something over $1000.  I thought that was an interesting idea just for mad money so I'm going to start that.  1 for me and 1 for hubby.

As for others I'm currently working on redoing some stuff to save some extra $$ here and there.

We got rid of cable....I sure do miss it!  But we rely on Hulu and Netflix...not the end of the world.

What do you say when you are calling to get a better price?

I saw that one too, although I think it would be easier to do it backwards that way you're not putting the most in around the holidays

Thanks for the reminder.  Hubby and I are going through things to make sure everything is where it needs to be.  He is calling the cable company, I already put an email in to my insurance agent, and I am going to check my electricity bill.

Now we just need to sell that big a$$ 5th wheel and we will be all set!

Trade directv/dish every 6 months to a year. These companies only offer good deals to new (or come back) customers.

If there is any way you can qualify for USAA insurance, get it. I have complete coverage on two homes, two one ton trucks, a van and a horse trailer for $365 a month. By complete coverage I mean EVERYTHING. If you have State Farm insurance, go shopping. We cut our house insurance by 65 percent by dropping them.

Sorry Karen just saw this.

We don't bundle, so I don't have an answer for you. But that price seems reasonable to me. What has and will continue to be pricey is the dang phone.  What we pay in taxes to have them is unreal...especially the land lines.

Wish we could do this.  Tried Netflix and our internet connection is so slow it had to load every 5 minutes... :/   I could go with no cable but the hubby can't....

lol-I called Direct TV. We had a bigger package so I could have GAC for the NFR (and by the way, I would still need that package for CBSSprotsnetwork for this year's NFR) but we don't need it.  So I called and told them I wanted their basic package and asked if they would give me a discount.  And he did-an additiona $15 a month off.

Got home, turned on the TV and realized my version of basic was not their version of basic.  I wanted the one with 140 channels, not 55!!!  They still gave me a good deal and they were super nice to work with.  Big oops on my part.

Question though-for those who have farm bureau insurance, have you foind any ways for them to find cost reducers for your policies?  We insure everything through them.  They said they can't reduce our rate anymore on our cars, which is fine-I think it is reasonable.  But I didn't know about the home.  They are checking on it right now.

We live in Texas.

eta: I also wanted to thank FC for this thread.  We reduced our cable, electricity, and hopefully home owners by just having a reminder.  And I have my husband finally jump started to sell that 5th wheel.

I recently shopped our insurance, Farm Bureau was significantly cheaper than any of our other options and also had better coverage.
