Location: ND | How do they typically fit? We ordered a 7 1/4 for my mom for Christmas as that's the size hat she currently has. It didn't even come close to fitting, sits on the top of her head! So we measured her head and she's since tried on several other brands and everything says she needs a 7 1/4. So do the Charlie 1 Horse's typically run small or did we happen to just get an odd ball one that's not right? |

Location: Riding Crackhead. | I have no other way to explain it than that they fit stupid. I wear a 7 and can't get a C1H hat to fit to save my soul. THey are way too small and shaped odd. My BFF has a tiny head and she wears one. |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | they all sit on top of your head. They are made more for dancing and bar hopping according to a hat shaper I went to during an AQHA show. You can take them to a really good hatter and they can reshape the top so they can sit down over your ears for more actual riding and then reshape the rest too. He also put foam inside to make it really fit the shape of my head. I love the new shape now. Maybe take it to a hatter. |

Location: Midwest Farmer's Daughter: Central Illinois | I agree with WBR - they're not made for people who actually ride in hats. They're made to sit on top of a hairdo & look nice.
Someone said once to me that C1H figured out how to get people to pay $150 for a $25 hat.
I have one & I wear it one out of every 10 runs or so. It's too shallow & if I don't cram it down to an almost painful degree, it flies off. |

Location: where ever my L/Q trl is parked | Sara can't you send it back get a refund? Like you said lot of money for something that doesn't fit. It's a shame C1H doesn't put a disclosure in the hat telling the buyer to beware... "not for riding in" "Buckle Bunnies welcome" |

Yep I will be. We where just trying to decide it it was worth it to try getting a different size or just get a refund and shop for something else. |

Well all the gals at my youth rodeo all wear them when they run and love them so I guess it just depends on the heads lol. I got one for Christmas on a deal from EBay at least 50% cheaper haha and I plan on wearing mine around just not during a run. I am all about helmet safety. I am not sure where the best place to buy hatstrings would be. |

So it fit's you good then, that good to hear. Ask Deanna Rockyroad on here that sells the 5 Star pads, I think she might make them, I saw, well I think I saw that she works with horse hair making shue flys and key chains out of horse hair. |

| Okay I will try and find her. Thanks :) yeah I may just have an unusually shaped head haha that would be my luck. It would be insane to spend that money on just something not used. |

Location: Riding Crackhead. | My daughter used her own hard earned money to buy a C1H straw hat a couple years ago. She thought it fit ok in the store and she could make it work. Nope, not at all. The only time that dumb hat has been worn is by me for when I have to push her calves at rodeos and its mandatory to wear a hat so I figure I might as wear the useless thing in case I get calf crap on it so I don't wreck my good ones. |

No i haven't heard of those but I'm usually wearing plain old black felts if there's a dress code. If I was cuter, young and a tough barrel racer I'd buy one, lol. |
