Location: Ohio | My hubby was working on our tractor and accidentally covered himself in diesel fuel and I can't get the smell out of his clothes or my washing machine for that matter!!!! First I used Arm and Hammer Laundry Detergent, then soaked overnight in Dawn dish soap, drained and rewashed, and I even tried homemade laundry detergent with extra Borax.Gave up and laid the clothes outside and scrubbed my washing machine out and it still stinks, I even ran a cycle of bleach water through it! Can anyone help? The smell is getting to me and I'm at my wits end. I always let it bake off on the clothes line before but its snowing outside so I doubt it would do anything... |

You have no idea how badly I wanted to do that... Unfortunately my husband just happened to be wearing his favorite carhartt jacket and he would probably cry like a 3 year old! lol |

Yep!!!
Owning diesels and construction equipment for over 25 years baking soda out of the box only thing that really works and does not leave a smell. (Pinesol makes me sick).
One box per load, if it is coveralls or such 2 boxes. |

Location: In the Hills of Texas | I use Baking Soda in every washload. I buy a 13.5# bag at Costco for about $5.00. On smelly stuff I use one cup along with Tide Powder detergent. |

Location: In the Hills of Texas | If your washer still smells...Use one cup of white vinegar along with 1 cup of baking soda and run a hot water cycle without any clothes. |

Location: Ohio | Im running the load of stinky clothes right now with just baking soda. Fingers crossed it works this time although I only used 1 box and its a heavier load. If not I will be sending the husband to the store to stock up on more boxes... |

Location: Where the pavement ends and the West begins Utah | You can also use apple cider vinegar and baking soda. Combined they will also take out stains and make your whites whiter, fun stuff.

| All this is good to know, in the past, I just threw out the clothes because I could never get the oily mess off of them! |
