Measuring for a blanket

Soo what's the correct way to measure for a winter blanket? I measured awhile back my little pony but she has done really well this winter without it but with more extreme temperatures coming and lasting longer I think she might need one. But anyways when I measured last time it came out a 72" and that can't be right because my stout 15.1 mare wears a 72" and this pony is 12.1 and way smaller than my mare. Also, where is the best and cheapest place to order one because I know all the places around here don't have anything smaller than a 72"

Center of chest to butt crack. I only use Weatherbeeta's.

That's it? I was told center of chest to butt crack and then multiply by 2!

depends on manufacturers specs. some to the end of the hip some around to side of tail some center of the tail. call the manufacturer and ask
all measurements from center of chest

Center of chest to middle of tail.
Although I ordered one in a 72" cuz my colt measured 71" and it's a PERFECT fit. Which is great. But he will need a new one next year lol. Kinda wish is ordered a 74" haha

Is she real wide? That's where I kinda went wrong with my colt. I didn't take I account he's wide
(duh
) lol
If she's wide give her some room! She may be short bodies but the width eat up inches!

I don't know if I would consider her a mini. She is 12.1 hands.

Does that size sound about right for that size of a pony?

Check out sstack.com! Better quality than the Weatherbeetas I've seen!

My pony is 45" or 11.2 H and 54" is a bit big on her, but doable. My POA wears a 72 and my QH has a fly sheet that is a 76, a sheet that is 78, and a blanket that is an 80....

My daughter's 13.3 hh gelding is in a size 72 Rambo Wug. I've never measured him, but I had a 72 on hand and it fit. He's not very wide but he's looooong.

Soo I measured her again tonight and got 64" and that was with a little room. I measured the center of her chest to her tail.
