And is it a waste to feed Forco when you're already feeding a feed that includes pre & probiotics? |

| I am very happy with Renew Gold. Have had my coming 3 yr old on it for 30 days now. Instead of having to feed him an expensive pellet plus supplements, I now feed him one scoop whole oats, one scoop beet pulp, loose minerals/vitamins and Renew Gold 2x a day. It costs $33 a bag but lasts a month at 3/4 pund per day. The oats and beet pulp are much less expensive than a complete pellet and he gets all the extra he needs from the Manna Pro mineral/vitamin. He has bloomed and even with some winter coat he now has a shine with dapples all over (buckskin) and is the perfect body condition. He looks better than he did when I was feeding an expensive pellet (Legends Performance) |

| Equipride. I think you get the most bang for your buck. (If your horse will eat it) If you really want to go lesser expense than the Ultra Elite Pro Form is awesome. Both of these products will dapple a horse. |

Location: Riding Crackhead. | I've had great success with Platinum Perf CJ. Some people feel its expensive but when you get 1 supplement with everything the horse needs IMO its priced right and you get what you pay for. |

| I've been very pleased with exceed 6 way. I compared it to platinum perf as well. If you get lucky they run some pretty good specials. I got a years supply with a coupon they put out for less than $50/mo which is pretty good IMO for what you get. |

I'd be curious to know about feeding forco along with the renew gold, which I just started on the gold but have been feeding forco for a year. |

| Platinum Performance CJ. You dont need to add other supplements. And they have research to back up the product. |

Location: Bandera, TX | Look into Ralco Slick Mix its several generations past Forco, and I don't say that lightly. Forco is a great product and I have it in my Goat feed room, I use it on our sale prep kids and especially to my dogs! Unbelievable the weight it will add to a run down stock dog. I'll add the links to Ralco products. I'm really stepping out of my comfort zone and trying a brand new feed for horses that they started mixing, They want my opinion... I'm into the essential oils and this is the first feed company that I know of that is adding this technology to their products so I'm on board.

Renew Gold, as far as I know, is just a stabilized rice bran/coconut meal/flax fat supplement. I don't think it does anything extra, but I could be wrong.
I can't get it here on the east coast. And I can get a decent priced high fat feed that I don't need to feed a lot of. So I just go with that. And it works.
The feed I'm feeding has probiotics and prebiotics added to it. So I was wondering if it was even worth trying, being as they already have pre/pro in their feed.
I've heard good things about it, but I also heard great things about Animal Element, and saw NOTHING with that supplement. And I don't like their business practices, personally.
I would love to be able to afford Exceed 4-way. It looks like it really works. But I can't afford the cost of it per month. I would be feeding a pasture pet a performance supplement bc I couldn't afford to show if I fed it. LOL
I do love THE. I've had great luck with them. My guy doesn't seem to react to the MM, so I've thought of just using the Performance formula with the joint/arthritis added in with another add on or two. He doesn't NEED joint support yet, but I want to prevent him from ever NEEDING anything. If that makes sense.
Thanks everyone! |

Location: Willows, CA | Renew Gold is very much "not just a fat supplement". Though the fat level is 15%, and from three different fat sources that are absorbed differently in the system, the main benefit and purpose of Renew Gold is to normalize the horses digestive system to better utilize the entire feeding program. This is done from the horses mouth back through a progression of upper GI tract bacterial control, inflammation control, starch processing high in the digestive system and a stabilization of hind gut function that results in more complete utilization of the roughage. While it is a valuable source of highly digestible fats, quality proteins, and micro nutrients, it is this ability to re-boot the digestive system that is responsible for the changes in condition that is being seen from such low feed rates. |

Location: Home....Smiling M Farms | I, personally, don't think there is one. A lot of the 'combo' supplements (note, I said a lot not all) are good for making expensive urine. They claim to promote hoof growth and have a joint supplement and an ulcer med in there and whatever else. Well, that looks great on an ad where you are trying to sell something but what about the product label? For example, there may be glucosamine in the product but less than half of what a working horse would need daily in order to get the affect that the product is striving to promote. Does that make sense? It's like when my bum leg starts hurting, I take 800mg Ibuprofen, if I were to cut it into thirds and only take one of those thirds, that wouldn't do me much good. Same thing with these supplements, they claim to have the ability to help with all these issues and while the ingredients are there, they are not in proper proportions to adequately get the job done. Thus feeding an expensive product that really doesn't cut the mustard. Also, knowing what supplements just don't work or what specific molecule size you need are very important. Did you know that in the very best of laboratory studies in the best conditions, horses digest less than 30% of chondroiton? That stuff is expensive for a horse to digest so little, thus the expensive urine. You just have to know what's good for your horse. Your individual horse. Learn your product labels. Don't buy into gimics. I understand our horses are high powered machines and we expect a lot out of them, but they are a creature that can do a lot with very little. It's actually very easy to make one toxic from over supplementing. With horses, less truley is more. |

| If you want just a basic vitamin/mineral/amino acid supplement for a horse with no special needs, then Grand Vite is pretty comprehensive and affordable. |
