Location: Central Iowa | My husband and I are expecting our 2nd son on May 19th. I will be 28 when I have him. It took us a lot to decide to have another child but since we are both only children we thought we had better. We both agree that we DO NOT want any more kids. I have always decided I would just get my tubes tied when they are in there for my second C section and be done with it. I keep having these horrible dreams that what if something happens to both of my kids when I am in my early 30s and I cant have any more, would I regret getting them tied! So my question to all you ladies are what are some NON perm. birth control options you are using and what do you like or don't like about them.
Clams, Tubes Tied, Cervix inserts . . . . . .

Location: Central Iowa | I am kind of scared of the IUD thing. I know several people who had to have emergency surgery to have them removed because they went through their wall and was floating in space! And they were not as active people like us who ride horses everyday and are a little harder on our bodies!! |

Location: Do I hear Banjos? | I use the Seasonale. It's a daily pill...but it restricts your period to once every three months...or...one per season (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall). It has worked great for me for years. |

Location: Oklahoma | I have the implanon. It's been approved for 3 years, but studies have looked at it for 5 years. I'm on my second round and love it. It's a small implant on the inside of your upper arm. |

| I think you need to talk to your doctor about your options. And personally - it's too difficult to play the "what if" game in my head. What "if" something happened? You won't be able to replace your kids. You can have others yet but they won't be replaced (not trying to be condescending here either). Have your husband get snipped and save some uh - well you know, for down the road. My sister in law had her tubes tied after her second child and she has no regrets. Good luck with whatever you decide. And congrats on your new baby!! |

Location: If I ever get back to Oklahoma..... | I'm 35 and expecting our second son. Repeat c-section on 2/6. I signed the consent form to have my tubes tied this morning. Doc kept trying to talk me out of it, and I still have a little bit of doubt, but I'm pretty sure I will go ahead and go through with it. I think two boys will be plenty for us to handle; but I know my husband would love to have a girl... Guess we will see next week! |

Location: Chehalis, Washington | We have friends that have had there husbands snipped.. which I beleive is reversable if you ever did choose to have another child. Its the healthiest option out there. |

IUD is the number on form of BC in China. But I do understand your hesitation although I dont know of anyone personally that has had an issue. I wanted one but since I had not had any children they would not allow me to get one. |

Have you talked to your doctor recently or was that a while back? I don't have any kids and I just got my first one put in around the beginning of October. I know they use to not do it but I think they are starting to now. Might be worth looking back into it. :) |

Para Gard is the cooper IUD that was good for 8 years or so. I had terrible long periods that were heavy on this. I had it for 5 years or so and it never got better. Quite a few people I talked to with this IUD had the same problem. |
