| I have a saddle that I adore but need a second saddle and just need something more reasonable in price for riding horses and not having to switch saddles all the time or use my good saddle on horses I'm just riding.
Which of these brands do you like? Are they all made in usa?
Courts
Billy Cook
Circle Y
Any others?
Tex Tan?

| I like my RS well enough, it just didn't fit the horse and i wanted something a little deeper in the seat. But they are well made saddles and very price friendly. They are made in Minnesota, the city escapes me. |

Location: mi | I like my Billy Cook (sulfur Ok). Just a nice saddle that seems to do a decent job of keeping you balanced and comfy and a great price. |

Location: Jones, OK | Allen Ranch (Stanley is great to work with and as honest as they come) made in OK
Billy Hogg (has at least a year wait on customs) made in AR
Trophy Tack (just got one two days ago and LOVE it!) Made in OK
All of the above are great fitting saddles and mine have fit even mutton withered horses that are hard to fit a saddle to...

Location: Midwest | I like Billy Cooks (sulphur, OK) and Circle Y's. I've had both.
They have decent resale value. With name recognition, they sell quickly too.
The new ones now I feel are somewhat overpriced, but if you can find a decent used one, they do last a long time in my experience, are decently balanced, and not a bad buy for a factory made saddle. |

Location: Oklahoma | My main saddle is a Billy Cook (Sulphur, circa 2004, model 2525) that I love. I've only had it on a handful of horses, but it has fit each one well. I think I gave it for $800-900 for it brand new, but I've looked online and found them cheaper than that recently. |

That right now is my "good" saddle. I found it in a tack shop for $800. That was the biggest blessing. If I come across another reasonable one I won't think twice about buying it! |

Location: North Dakota | I think the courts camarillo saddles are still one of the best quality long lasting saddles on the market. I actually have been surfing the web looking for one of the "old fashioned" with the big acorn leaf saddles for a while now :) If I find one cheap enough it will be mine! |

Location: N Texas | I think all the ones you listed are good saddles. I have a Martha Josey Circle Y saddle that I've had for YEARS and it has held up amazingly. I LOVE that saddle, so I was really disappointed when it didn't fit my new gelding. He really didn't like it. I found a Martin Sherry Cervi on craigslist for $800 and snatched it up. Both my horse and I really love that saddle. It's been the best saddle I've ever had.
Sometimes you can come across amazing deals like that. There was a Martin Racer for sale for $1,000 a while back on craigslist, and if I would've had the extra money, I would've bought it. You just have to look and be ready to buy when one comes up :) |
