I posted this at another forum but I thought it should be here too;

You guys probably saw on the news the house fire that killed several people. 9 dead that they know about. Mostly children. Terrible, terrible tragedy.

The home that burned is about 25 miles from me. Only about a mile from one of my best friends.

11 people in the home. Parents and 9 children. The mother and 8 children died in the fire. The father and a daughter are severly burned and have been taken to Vanderbilt in Nashville.

Just terrible.

And no insurance. No insurance on the home, no life insurance on any family member.

This family was from Evansville, In. Been living in this area for about a year. The father has 3 jobs.

Included in the deaths were 4 year old twins. I think the oldest child killed was 14. The father is in critical condition at Vanderbilt. He went back into the home 3 times trying to save his kids and wife. They said he was on fife and running back into the home screaming. I can't even begin to imagine his horrors.

We were told this morning that the father died but appears to have been a false report.

The surviving child is an 11 year old girl. She is much improved but still on a respirator because of smoke inhalation. She is eating on her own now according to hospital. She wrote a note to the nurse that said, "am I and my father the only ones still here?". So she knows.

An anonymous donor from New York has offered to help pay for the funerals but now The Band Perry has stepped in to pay all the funeral costs.

Kinda restores one's faith in human nature.

^^I post the above. Here's a response;

I was trying to respond but can't really think of anything to say that would make any sense. The whole thing is just so horrific, how could you begin to try an make things better. If this FE insurance forum would start a collection, I'd put in $50.00. JD would you be willing to set up an account where we can wire funds to? Or if you know of one already please post it.

Things like this make our problems seem so trivial.

He got an answer;

Here are two funds that have been set up to help the family:

The Calvary Baptist Church has set up a fund in Greenville at the Old National Bank. If you have any questions about that, or are interested in donating, you can call them at (270) 338-1000. Church officials say another memorial fund has now been set up to help support the Watson Family. This one, also called the Watson Family Fund, is at First Kentucky Bank in Central City. They're located at 109 North Second St., and can be reached at (270) 754-1331

Then I posted this;

Xrac beat me to it. I'm going to donate too. This is just so senseless. One of the man's 3 jobs was as a preacher. They say he gave a powerful sermon just last Sunday.

I know as a christian that we are not to question God but I am sure am on this.
