| What is your cut off for hauling? The past week here has been around 0F and it looks like this week is going to be more of the same. I haul to an arena 15 minutes away from here and I pull a stock trailer that has been closed in with plexiglass where the slots are at the top. I haven't been hauling if its colder than 10F but at that rate I'm not getting any riding in. Any thoughts? |

| 15 minutes hauling time probably won't have much impact. I would definitely have a blanket on while hauling. |

I bet I could safely say, on behalf of all us northerners, 40 degrees would be a most welcome change!LOL |

Location: Canada | We haul until it's about -23C or -10F and we haul about 20 minutes away also in a stock trailer with Plexiglass. If I had to wait for fairer weather I'd not ride until May it seems.
When I'm finished riding I do though make sure they are cooled out and blanket them in a square wool cooler as soon as I hop off them and for the ride home. Then I stall them with their coolers on until they are 100% dry. I have yet to have one arrive cold on the way there, or on the way home.

| I've hauled several times in -40 to -60 with an open stock trailer. My horses looked like bag ladies with the foot tall layers of blankets and hoods. They were fine. Lots of -10 to -20. They're fine, just layer them up it you're worried. The beauty of western Wyoming is the awesome heated indoor arenas, but you have to haul to get there! Cold temps big time. |

Location: North of the 49th Parallel | If I would ever dig out my trailer I'd haul this winter. lol. But my cut off for riding in a heated indoor is about -18C. Mainly because then it takes forever for my horse to cool out |

Location: Phoenix | I went riding this winter when it was 16 out. But it was also sunny and no wind. Zero would be too cold for me. Those 15 degrees make a big difference!! |

Location: Where the pavement ends and the West begins Utah | I'll ride but I won't work them into a good sweat. It takes to long to dry and they are outside horses I don't have an enclosed barn or arena. Carhart and wrangler make flannel covered jeans, if one were to wear long johns with these it's not to bad out even with a little wind. If you can stand the weather your horses will be OK to haul. It gets real toasty when more than one horse is in the trailer and it's closed up. |

| Most of the arenas in my area are closed at -20c so that is my cut off |

| Yesterday at the barn I ride at I saw a woman blow drying her horse...
I'm all for making sure my horse is adequately dry, but this seemed ridiculous to me. |
