| Is the Wheat Belly Diet just being gluten free?
If so, (speaking for my dad, as he's gluten intolerant) the likes would be he can think more clearly - no fuzzy brain feeling, lost weight, full of energy, happier - pretty much everything improved.
Dislikes would be it's hard to find stuff you can eat in the beginning and somewhat expensive but once you get used to it it's really not so bad. |

Check out any rice pastas or gluten free breads, Udi's brand is the best! |

All those things that you just mentioned are DELICIOUS;however, they are definitely the things that promote BELLY FAT. As I've gotten used to not having those foods over the years and experiencing how awesome I feel when I leave them out of my diet, I've found that not eating them is not only good for the tummy area but the benefits in energy etc. make it much easier to say no to them. When I eat them I get tired, have more body aches and more headaches. |

I agree. GoMistyGo There are some great recipes that are quick and easy that use almond and coconut flour. We truly do not miss Wheat at all, Especially since we feel better with it being out of our lives. |

Location: Living in my Promised Land | I have been off wheat (gluten) for almost a year. I have had a few bites here and there and later regretted every one. Now it is just easier to not eat it. I will say that my pain level from inflammation has decreased dramatically. I miss pizza and home made bread, but not enough to eat them. |

| I wonder if the wheat farmers have taken a hit since these types of diets have become so popular? Is there something that is being done to the wheat to make it worse for people than it used to be? |

Different types of wheat go towards different food products it's produced for, pastas verses bread....
Read the Wheat Belly book if you get a chance it explains ALOT and all better then I ever could

Read the Wheat Belly book if you get a chance it explains ALOT and all better then I ever could Β Β I should read it. I wonder if the Oklahoma wheat farmers have seen a decline in the need for their product with these types of diets becoming so popular?. ....well wheat farmers in general. I figure there are probably some wheat farmers on BHW too. I wonder if some wheat farmers don't eat wheat products? Like are there any vegetarians who have a cattle ranch or a tobacco farmer who is against smoking. LOL

I do know of cattle producers who are vegetarians.....
I don't see a declining need for wheat being grown, I know in Canada a lot of our wheat goes outside of the country, so say if China's buying that's a lot of people to feed....... |

There is no GMO wheat being grown for commercial production. They have done field trials but it's not FDA approved so you can't go out and buy the seed. Modern wheat is different but it got like that the old fashioned way.
I do grow wheat. The market is down but so are all commodities. It has more todo with increased supply for the moment rather than decreased demand. |
