Curious Mind Posts: 2049	Is there anyway to tie or fasten your stirrup fenders to keep them from getting behind you without having to buy a different saddle? Any pics of how you did it? Thanks!

You can take it to a saddle shop and have them "hobble" your rigging under your stirrup fenders to your front d-ring so they can't go so far back OR you can use a soft rope/string/whatever to do it yourself and run it around your rigging under your fenders and tie to the d-rings on your breast collar and adjust to your preference.

I will add to the above...you can also have your saddle maker (repair shop) insert a "block" (piece of leather) in there to keep them from swinging back.

Elite Veteran Posts: 1092 Location: OK	I don't have any pics, but if you go to any jr rodeos, you're bound to see some kids with some. Their saddles don't work with short legs most of the time, so I've seen a lot of kids use this until their legs got longer and stronger. Get some small snaps. Tie some cotton or even hay string around your stirrup leather, not the whole fender but the leathers underneath. Take the long end and run it to the first ring you come to on your breast collar. That's where the snap goes. Tighten until you like how it fits. You will have to undo the snap every time you unsaddle. or you will wind up with your breast collar hung to your stirrup.

You can have it high, low or even with your cinch ring. It will stop a lot of movement of the leg. By doing this you'll find just how much you really swing your legs.

	Lengthen your stirrups so that when you standup in the stirrups you can barely put the flat palm of your hand under your crotch .... about 2 inches off the saddle seat... go look at Cervi, Fallon, Jacobs or other NFR pros ... they put all the leg they can on the horse... If you shorten your stirrups ... your high knees will activate, tilt you forward and bounce your butt in the air when your horse slows down or gathers away from the barrels .... team ropers do this since they are so fat all they do is sit on their butts and twirl a rope ... lol ..
