Looking at adding another scanner in my office to scan in patient documents and insurance cards. We're really tight on space so I was really considering the portable NEAT Desk scanner that I see TV commercials on all the time. We would not need the fancy organizing software that comes with it.

Curious if anyone has one and how you like it? User friendly?

I used one when I did accounting in my last jobs for a few years. I really liked it, small, space saver, easy to use. Only thing I had problem with is that it can not scan anything longer then 36 inches but for most people that would never be a problem.

all the time … easy to use. I take it with me to travel. Scan documents as needed, even scanned my signature to place on a document to have filed in case. was a lifesaver … super easy!

ETA: down side is you have to feed each page one at a time. With a larger device, it might have a feeder.

Don't know if we have the space for the larger one either. But thanks for the offer!

The "issues" mentioned so far would be fine for what we would use it for.

1) When you scan a business card (for example) does it automatically crop the image around the card? Or do you have a full-size-looking scan with the card in the middle?

2) Is it only set up to import the information into their system, or can you access the files to upload them anywhere? (Like you would a normal scanner)

3) Is the file format a JPG once scanned?

I've scanned receipts .. they are the size of receipts. I've not scanned a business card, so I can't say for certain. If you want to pm me your address, I can try it and see. (I won't get to do it until later this afternoon though)

You don't have to use their system.

It will save as a pdf and you save it to your desktop and then you can move it into your files.

If you use their system, you open their system, then scan. If you just want to scan you simply hit "open scanner" from your system preferences and go.

ETA: I use a macbook. I'm not sure if its different for a pc.
