| I have one who was on Triple Crown but I changed to Purina and soaked alfalfa pellets for cost, I dont' like Purina really well but it is cheaper and he looks good. He is 32 this year. I just found some that is called Equus Golden Senior and it is $16.00 a bag so going to try that but I am not sure who all carries it so might not be in your area. I love Triple Crown . |

| We feed ever one of our horses the same feed. We have it made a local feed mill, oats with a few extras added in. Have 21 year old and 19 year old..

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | Patriot Sr. and Healthy Glo. And I add soaked alfalfa cubes if I see him losing weight. He also eats his hay from a slow feeder box and that helps him chew it better since the bites are smaller. He's 26 and has teeth missing.

Location: N Texas | My 26 year old is currently on free choice grass hay, ADM SeniorGlo, soaked alfalfa cubes, soaked beet pulp and MSM. I'm about to switch him to PrimeGlo because he's getting the extra fiber from the alfalfa cubes and beet pulp, so I'm going to see how he does on that. He's always been a super easy keeper, but as he gets older, it's harder for him to eat hay, so I have to supplement his feed with extra fiber/roughage.
My personal opinion is if you have a hard keeper, it's better to feed them more roughage (like alfafa or beet pulp) than feed. Most people seem to want to pour feed into them, but the bulk of their diet needs to be roughage. The senior feeds that I know of are high in fiber, so the feeding rates are high to make sure horses are getting enough to eat if they can't eat hay very well. It's cheaper to feed them soaked alfalfa cubes and beet pulp. Senior feed feeding rates can get up to 10+ pounds per day, which can get incredibly expensive.

Location: Texas | My 30 yr old gelding is on Purina Senior. He looks great and is still very active. I have tried other local senior feeds and be did not look or feel as good. Not really a Purina fan but it works great for him |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | My husband's 29yr old gets 3/4 coffee can each of beet pellets alfalfa pellets oats 1/2 cup Amplify soaked twice a day. He also has access to a round bale since he is in with the yearlings, but I think it is more to alleviate boredom. He doesn't have ANY teeth.
My dad's 33 yr old mare gets 3/4 coffee can of sweet feed Purina Senior beet shreds alfalfa pellets. She doesn't look any better than the gelding and it costs more to feed her, but she is living a good life and that is all that matters. |

| Ours are broodmares and ages are 23, 23, 22, and 20. They eat the same thing as everyone else, a 14/6 pellet, coastal hay, and a little alfalfa occasionally. |

Location: Carpenter, WY | Besides grass/alf hay Teehaha gets one full coffee can of beet pulp soaked. I put 3/4 of a scoop of Sr on top of that and then almost a half coffee can of sweet mix. I leave the bucket kind of 'sloppy' as she has teeth missing and kind of slurps up the whole thing. I know the sweet mix isn't the best thing to give but she's almost 30 and has had it all her life and I'm not going to stop now :)

 Worst.Housekeeper.EVER.
Location: Missouri | I was mixing feed, including beet pulp and alfalfa for my mare. But, she went down hill so much last summer, that I didn't think she would make it through another winter. I switched to a cheap senior feed from MFA (local store) that costs $10/bag http://www.mfa-inc.com/Equine/Feeds/Easykeeper/MFAEasykeeperGoldenYears.aspx . I feed about 18lbs/day, which is more than recommended, but she hasn't looked better in years. I do not supplement or top dress anymore, but she does have free choice salt and minerals. She cannot eat hay, and is a terrible quidder. She's 32 now. I'll attach a recent picture.
I hardly consider my 20 y/o a senior. He eats ADM Performance 14P and I add Formula 707 Daily Essentials. I still compete on him and he looks and feels great.

Location: East Tennessee but who knows?! | I have a 25yr old appendix horse that I've had since he was 3 that's as finicky as they come and has always been a hard keeper. He had trouble with colon ulcers in years past and he gets slow on his feed if he's fed molassas or joint supplements. He won't stay on senior feed, won't eat straight grain, he won't eat the ground alfalfa or soaked cubes or soaked beet pulp, doesn't like straight pelleted feed and you can forget about wetting his feed down. His teeth are in good condition too. He'll only eat a certain amount of hay no matter what kind it is so you can't get weight on him with hay.
I have to mix up his feed so it's evenly distributed, otherwise he won't eat it. He gets a mix of original Strategy, dry beet pulp shreds, rice bran, and Standlee's alfalfa. He gets 4 scoops total of that a day plus 4 medium sized flakes of mix grass hay. He won't take his head out of the bucket. My scoops are 3qt.

| My 27 year old has no teeth. She gets 1st cutting alfalfa. She eats the leafs and leaves the steams which I then throw to the other horses, and about 5 lbs of purina senior with this fat I get from the local co-op called "super fat" and it's just liquid fat. She gets 20ccs of that squirted onto her feed a day. She's 16.1 hands and weights about 1300lbs and she is full of sass! |

Location: Buffalo, TX | My 35 yr. old mare was losing weight on Senior feed and soaked alfalfa and beet pulp plus Healthy Coat oil....I switched to a 50/50 mix of Total Equine and a 10% fat oat mixture and what a difference!....I'm guessing she gained 50 lbs. the first month and just shines, even with a winter coat....I need to post a before and after picture....all of my horses get Forco. |
