Ok- I'm sure I need to just suck it up... But I did not anticipate the expanding booty and, well... Everything when I got pregnant! I don't mind gaining for the baby, but I feel like I have just eaten too much or gained the "wrong" weight! I'm 6 months this week and I've noticed that I'm getting "lumpy" in some of the wrong places lol and my face has really filled out! I've just found myself feeling really insecure about all this- anyone else gain besides belly? I don't eat much junk food and I haven't really had cravings... I guess I should just start watching it?

I have gained everywhere!!!   I already had a healthy appetite before I was pregnant so my eating habits havn't changed much but I have GAINED a ton!!  I mean I may have set a record....   and people have let me know it!!!  I am 37 weeks and it has really bothered me the last two months, but feel like at this point there wasn't much I could do.  The Drs never say anything to me so I guess its ok.  My mom said she gain a ton with every pregnancy. She said she always lost almost 40lbs before leaving the hospital (probably a lot of water weight), and was usually back to her normal size withine 6 months.  So I am hoping I will be the same way.

I am still shocked at how much I have gained... :/  I feel your pain.

If you're eating healthy food and still active, then it's your genetics that determine whether you gain a bunch or not.   I was lucky in that regard, but not immune, and did gain some in my butt and hips.  Breastfeeding helps get it off--that's part of why you build reserves during pregnancy, is so you can feed the baby.  Don't sweat it.

I am 5'2" and started out at 120. I gained over 60lbs with both my boys. You can imagine how round I was. My youngest will be 2 in May and I'm back to 112. Dont let it get to you, just eat healthy. I had a lot of water weight.

I think it just depends on how you body reacts. My mom is not very big and she got HUGE during all of her pregnancies. I'm smaller than her and I gained a total of 30lbs and was able to stay in all of my regular pants and jeans.

I gained 52lbs with my daughter. I'm 30 weeks pregnant with our son and I have gained 25lbs. I am trying to not gain the 52 like I did with her. I lost all of the 52 plus another 10 before. I am trying to choose healthy food instead of junk food when I am hungry. The bad part is I am hungry all the time. LOL!

I too have gained some weight and it bothers me that it really shows in my face more than anywhere else, but I blame some of it on the fact that its winter and Im staying really positive that it will come off just as easy as it went on. I recently started lifting some little 3 lb weights and doing some upper body workouts with them, and every time I go pee at work I do either 10 squats or 10 toe raises after I wash my hands. lol. My friend had her baby in September and gained almost 50 lbs, and she only has 10 left to lose, so Im staying positive that it'll be even easier in the summer!

I have gained around 30-35 lbs so far and I am 37 weeks. This is our first baby. I can still wear my regular clothes for the most part. I eat the same as I did before I was pregnant which is pretty healthy. I feel like I am gaining in alot of the wrong places also. My doctor said my weight gain still looks good. I was around 125 before I was pregnant but lost about 10 in the first few months from being sick.

I went from weighing 115 lbs before pregnancy, to 175 lbs by the time I went in to be induced. I was all belly except for my thighs.

I now just eat healthy, and excerise every night.

Yeah trying to stay active is a great idea.  I switched jobs when I was like 17wks and went from a job where I was on my feet almost all day and riding horses everyday after work.  To a desk job that I got off to late to be able to do anything after work.  Wish I would have been better about finding ways to stay active.  suppose to be good not only for weight gain but  with labor too.

I am 17 1/2 weeks pregnant and have gained about 11 lbs so far...but I feel huge already. It seems like I have gained some weight in my thighs. I am trying not to worry about it too much. My regular pants are too tight on me...so I wear them un-buttoned. I have bought a pair of maternity jeans from the GAP and they are comfortable. Hope everyone has a great pregnancy!!!

Sweetie I'm not even pregnant anymore and yet I still gained weight AFTER the miscarraige.....like rubbing salt in a wound I guess.  Every womans body is different. Some people can eat and eat and eat and never gain an ounce of fat.  Others can practically starve themselves and gain a bunch.

As long as you are eating healthy and staying active, then just embrace that your body is doing what it needs for your baby.....and it's only temporary.  As long as you work hard at it all this weight will come back off!!

I had a repeat c-section on 2/6 and went today for my checkup with the OB. In 8 days or so I've lost 18 pounds. Granted my son weighed 8 lbs, 3 oz and was 19 inches long. I gained about 25 pounds with both of my pregnancies. I think alot of the weight from my first pregnancy stuck around after the first one because I went back on the pill. Plus I'm 35, so if I want to lose weight, I will have to work at it. I plan on trying a little harder getting this baby weight off than I did the last time.

I never threw up my first trimester but i pretty well STAYED nauseous and sleepy and even in those times- when the last thing in the world I wanted to do was eat- the only thing that would soothe my stomach and offer a bit of relief was eating something semi-substantial and salty/carby... A lot of baked potatoes and couch time happened... I was 5'6 (almost 5'7") and 115 at the get-go so they said I was technically underweight for pregnancy and that gaining weight at this rate is fine... It has slowed some but I guess after a lifetime of being naturally thin and active, needing to be "lazy" and having to eat, eat, eat at first and seeing the weight gain because of it has been rougher than I thought. I'm 6 months and have gained 27 lbs!
Luckily- I tend to be able to lose very easily and do plan on breast feeding, so I have light at the end of my tunnel. Lol (that could be a TERRIBLE pun given this topic.) lol

I didnt work out, and ate pretty much whatever I wanted, and gained 40lbs. Baby was 6lbs 9oz. He is now 6 1/2 months old and I am 2lbs below my pre pregnany weight. I have breastfed this entire time and still am. So don't worry, it'll come off :)

I gained 40 pounds with my first one, and 35 with the second. My pre-pregnancy weight was 110 I now average about 102 lol. My doctor even told me to stop eating so much Taco Bell the first time around None of the extra weight stayed in fact it fell off. I attribute it to breastfeeding. I lost almost 20 lbs my first week postpartum and never really had to "work" at it. Breastfeeding burns a lot of calories, just another incentive for you if you are undecided. One thing I wish would have gone away is the stretch marks lol!

rach.k i was like you in the beginning of both of my pregnancies. i was so sick and all i could do was eat nothing but potatoes because food just made me sick. So i gained most of my weight in the beginning during the sickness stage. I gained 30lbs with both pregnancies and excercised for a minimum of 45 minutes each day. I nursed both my boys and with my first one i didn't lose the last 10lbs till i quit nursing. My 2nd son is 7.5 months old and i am still nursing him and i still have 10lbs to go. and I exercise and eat right. My body seems to hold on to some weight until i quit nursing. but i know alot of people that lose all their pregnancy weight by nursing alone so hopefully that works for you.

i gained 53lbs with my son and i was in my regular pants the day i went home from the hospital. I swear my belly was huge before i had him but nothing else really gained much. I am 35 weeks right now and have gained 40lbs so far and i have a feeling i will have a lot more left over this time around. Granted my body is almost 10 years older. Im just going to have to work harder at getting this weight off. Dont stress about it. If you are eating right and staying active there isnt much you can do about it right now.
