| Good bad or indifferent … what are your opinions on the Cactus Charmayne James saddle?
Thank you! |

Location: on my horse | Have one, absolutely hate it, doesn't hold its resale value. Ick ick ick ick. I always felt unbalanced riding it and although it fit my horse the feel of it drove me nuts. Has forward hung stirrups which wouldn't be a problem but they had a catch in them and one would get stuck extra forward and I would have to literally jerk it back from the ground.
Leather isn't great quality, it got really gross and torn up looking after approx. a year of riding and I am not hard on my saddles (clean them on a schedule, protect them, store inside on a rack, etc.) Also not a fan of the suede covered neoprene underside. It got really slick really fast with use.

Location: Opelousas, LA | I like mine, they do run just a little big but I really like it. It does not have a super deep seat but I have never felt insecure in it and mine has held up well.
I don't think they hold thier resale value as well as some of the higher end saddles but that can be a good thing if you are looking to buy used. |

I own 2 and love them. They might not hold their resale value real well but I was a lucky one and bought a fully tooled with a flame stingray seat pretty cheap. I love how they fit me and my horses. Now that she's going to Reinsman it will be interesting to see if there's more used Cactus on the market. |

Location: northeast | I have owned a lot of big name barrel saddles and this was my favorite saddle! I loved the way it rode and felt. Stirrups are not forward hung, deep enough seat , lightweight and rides very balanced. Unfortunately, it didnt fit the horse. Not to sound snobby but I love it more than my Caldwell. |

Location: Where you need a paddle... Oregon! | I just sold mine. I liked it but it was way too wide for both my horses. One thing I did notice is that I would lose a stirrup a lot in it, but have never had that problem before. I sold it for $1400, which was a good turn around for me since I traded another Cactus for it. I bought a used Triple Creek and like it better and am not losing my stirrup anymore. |

I was wondering this same thing about the Reinsman CJs.
I also wonder what the motivation was behind the move from Cactus to Reinsman.
I guess with anything else …. likes and dislikes … looking at a used one. Wondering about the running big … That's not going to be good if it runs big!
