| Sorry for all the off topics I post, I research other boards that pertain to these topics but I don't 'know' the people like I 'know' everyone here. I have been on Retin A, antibiotics, prescription washed and creams with sulfur based ingredients, benzoil peroxide, salycic acids, and nothing is helping now that I'm an adult. Worked great in my younger years tho! I have teeny tiny bumps all over, looks like a rash but isn't. I do have an appt with my primary but he's just going to refer me to a dermatologist. Mine moved away so I haven't seen one in 10 years.

Location: Kentucky | I have hormonal acne. It really flares up right before my period. I've been off BC for almost a year now. It's embarrasing since I used to be known for my clear face and now I have blemishes everywhere.
Have you been on BC? |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | My own breakouts are hormonal, although if I don't keep exfoliated my oily skin will get plugged pores all over the place. I also will have hormonal type breakouts after eating shellfish or drinking milk. |

| I,too, as a young person was always complimented for my clear skin and nice complexion. Imagine my surprise, when, as an adult, I was dealing with skin issues. My dermatologist said I gotten caught up in the "moisturizer epidemic", trying to take care of my skin and guard against premature aging I was using oil-free moisturizers like Clinique that are advertised as non-comedogenic etc. He said, there is no such thing as that and that it is absolutely false advertising. His advice: Wash face in yellow Dial soap and do not put ANY moisturizer on (needing to have that moisturized feel or feeling over-dry is only in your head and you will get over it he told me). Do, however, use a good sunscreen to protect your skin from the effects of the sun and wash with the Dial to clean your face from the effects anything in it that could cause blemishes. I followed his instructions, as hard as it was, and it helped a ton! As for make-up, I went with the Neutrogena Healthy Skin with Salcylic Acid which helped too. |

Location: Randolph, Utah | I'm yet to find anything to take my acne away. Mine is mostly on my chest. Last dermatologist gave me antibiotics (with a million refills) and told me eventually it will go away. It's gotten worse! So frustrating! Hope you find something to help you! |

Please do yourself a favor and wash your chest with the plain old yellow Dial soap and then put nothing but maybe a retinol cream on. I truly believe you'll see a huge difference. It's amazing sometimes how truly simple the solution is. My dermatologist made a believer out of me! |

Dial antibacterial soap works best on me. I don't put anything else on. |

| I was put on antibiotics and a topical called Tazorac. Love it. Finally found a dermatologist that kept trying different things. Even the antibiotics, keep trying different ones. It took a few for me to find what worked.
Was told food could affect breakouts too. Never believed it until around the holiday time. I finally discovered that wine was a major cause of my breakouts.
Good luck. I know your pain. |

Location: Oz, Kansas | I use only Dial antibacterial body wash & Purpose liquid face soap for several years & I've cleared up really well. I use olive oil to remove eye make up & every now & then use a spot treatment. I also only use cetaphil lotion when needed under my makeup & get new foundation every 3 months even if it's not gone. |

I have used Tazorac and it chemical burned me. I have sensitive skin. Retin a was milder, I guess. |

Location: Phoenix | Are you on birth control? I always had blemishes and after I started on birth control they disappeared. I still get like one large painful bump like 2 weeks in, but I guess that's how my face is. |

Location: WI | I never had acne as a teenager, then turned 30 and BOOM. I went to a dermatologist, and got on a routine of: Wash with Cetaphil 2x/day Antibacterial gel in the morning, it is prescription can't remember the name Epiduo 2x/week or as needed, prescription Adapalene/Benzoyl Peroxide cream
I also had reddish teeny bumps all over - I thought it was a rash, but nope ACNE! |

| My face is too sensitive to any of the soaps and was getting red and dry and breaking out. I use Ponds cold cream and wipe it off with a warm cloth. It acts as a moisturizer also. I follow up using Witch Hazel as a toner. My skin is not red anymore. I guess I was stripping my skin of its oils so it was producing more oil to keep up.
Ponds is like 8 bucks and Witch hazel is around 2 bucks. Good luck! |

Sorry you had such a bad reaction with the Tazorac. I have very oily skin, and is pretty tuff. I couldn't use it every day. It made me start to peel, but has helped me with my oil problem. Hope you found something that has worked well for you.
It's just wrong to have acne and wrinkles at the same time! |

| Thank you for all of the information. Is the yellow dial soap a liquid? I also have a Clarisonic pro and have used the deep poor cleansing wash they have and it still didn't help. |
