Location: Up and over to the right | I have a 2013 F250 diesel (no dually) and a B&W turnover ball hitch.
Would a 3 horse with small LQ or a 4 horse with just a tack room be too much for the truck?
I don't want to be maxing out or coming close. What do you guys usually haul with a 2500/250?
I already upgraded to the 250 because I wanted enough stop power for my current 3h bp trailer. Now I'm interested in trading in for a gooseneck, just want to know my limit. |

Location: Muskogee, OK | I pull a smaller 3 horse LQ with my F250 no problem! Before purchasing my current trailer, a big thing for me was looking at the overall weight of the trailer. I would definitely go aluminum as those steel trailers are super heavy. But you should have no problem pulling a smaller (4' or 6' shortwall LQ) with your truck. |

| Our 2011 F250 Gasser pulls our 4 horse with a tack room gooseneck, no problem. It also pulled a 4 horse, very small tack room stock trailer bumper pull no problem (although it pulls the gooseneck better) |

Location: Kansas | Matt has a 99 F250 diesel (not dually) and he pulls an aluminum 3H Exiss with weekend living quarters no problem. That trailer is still heavier than my 3 horse stock combo that's steel because of the extra length and the LQ. I would think you'd be OK with that truck, of course I pull my trailer with an 01 Dodge half ton so I might not be the best person to ask. I'm looking to upgrade but don't want to go into that type of debt until I have a better paying job so until then I will keep poking along in ol blackie I guess. |

Location: WV | You want to think of everything. How much weight is in the truck, how much weight is in the trailer, how much does the trailer weigh etc. Check your owners manual also.

Location: mi | pulled a 3 horse 4star with a 9' LQ. With a 3./4 ton diesel. Pulled it all day long but I would not have been comfortable going much bigger. I have friends that pull a 3 horse 3 star with mid takc and 10' LQ with a 3/4 ton chevy diesel and have no problems with it either.
We are super flat land here and I know that does make a difference. Although we have both hauled those rigs to TX, OK and FL at least once a year and had no problems handling that either.

I have a 2013 F250 and pull a large 4 horse with 10 ft short wall living qtrs and hay pod. It maxes out (with horses) at about 16K lb.s which is what I beleive the truck is rated for. In fact that is why I went with Ford. They are the only mfg that makes a non dually that can pull that load.
I did have to put air bags on the rear suspension so the truck did not squat so much... but it pulls it GREAT! |

| We have an '08 F250 that pulls a 4 horse gooseneck Lakota, the extra wide one, with tack, and 9ish foot short wall. The tow haul mode doesn't even work and it has no issues. Granted it does have an H&S Black Maxx Tuner on it so it does make about 200 more horsepower than the stock trucks do. You aren't going to see much "pulling difference" between an F250 and an F350. The only reason you would need a dually would be if you have a super long trailer. It's all about the amount of weight that is being pulled infront of the trailers axles. If your hitch is behind your trucks axle, you're going to have a bigger problem than if it is ontop of/infront of the axle. (Sorry, i'm a nerdy engineering student at A&M ) |

Location: The Great Northwest | I keep in mind that if I were ever in an accident and was sited my insurance may cancel. Anytime the truck pulling the trailer is less, pounds, than what it is towing your in trouble. The tow truck needs to be able to control the trailer. |

| We pull a 3H aluminum trailer with a small LQ all the time, sometimes loaded with 3 horses. We have a 2500 diesel. |
