Location: DUMPING CATS AND PIGS IN TEXAS :) | I saw the results on Facebook yesterday with Robyn Herring winning. So, is it just the top qualifiers there that move on? When does Charmayne James come in to the picture? |

Location: The Great Northwest | The 10 qualifiers from five different qualifying races ran in a long go and the top 20 go to the Semi-Finals which is this week-end. The top 10 will go to the American which is March 2 at Arlington, Texas. Charmayne will run in The American race with the 10. After that go, the top 4 will run in a shoot out to determine the top 2. I hope I explained it okay. |

Where are the NFR ladies at? I didn't see any of them in the race yesterday. |

| To answer your question LRQHS- NO, WE CAN'T! There is a whole website devoted to explaining it, and after reading it, I'M STILL confused! One thing that confused me was learning the guy events take the top 5 from the Mesquite semifinals, but the barrel race (OPPS, I forgot, that was also a "guys" event... sorry) but the barrel race is taking back the top 10. So half of the ladies (aarrggh, messed that one up again as a man DID make it back to the semifinals) and ONE GUY that run in the semifinals can make it to Arlington to run for the CHANCE to win or split a purse held out specifically for the specially qualified contestants (or non-pros as some are calling them, though I think Talmadge Green, would beg to differ his amateur status) IF THEY WIN their event. If they come in 2nd, too bad, NADA from the BIG SIDE PURSE! IF any other "non-pro" contestant WINS their event, then you split the purse in half, if 3 thirds, etc, etc..... WHEW.... This IS confusing me... NOW, to give the the WHOLE picture, there is another 1 million dollar purse that is being divided between ALL contestants at the American who end up in the placings. SO, the "Non-pro, non-rodeo" contestants (who actually CAN be rodeo contestants, hold a pro-card, and could have even had been to this years NFR, AND also be Professionals based on their IRS forms) get a chance at TWO different $1,000,000 purses! It's just the payout for those purses are structured different from each other. OMG, now I see why I was/am confused. REGARDLESS, I think it has been GREAT FUN! A GREAT IDEA, and I would have loved to be part of it. I HOPE it happens again next year!! But, to save yourself the agony of trying to figure this out, I think I have to say your question is simply too complicated to be answered by me......  |
