I got a new crown c two months ago and had the saddle shop fit her for the correct size but it rolls all the time. I have tried different pads and can't seem to find a solution yet. I love love the seat on this saddle it's so comfortable but I can't get it to stop moving on my mare. I know the saddle is not to narrow she has good room under it. Is it possible for a saddle that is too wide to roll? Anyone else experienced this or have any advise. Thanks in advance

What saddle pads have you tried with it? Any pictures to show how it fits on your horse?

I have a Crown C and haven't had a problem with it rolling.

Where do you have your rigging set, and are you shimming?

How do I add pictures I have some from when I first got it n it was just sitting on her. I have tried a 7/8 n a 1 in 5 star on her I just got a call my 3/4 wool felt classic equine pad just came in today. I have tried shims and moving my riggin to different spots and it still wants to slide back where I believe it's suppose to be but then it rolls really bad. My mare feels a lot more free and is really running hard in it but not turning the greatest and I'm sure it is from it rolling.

I had problems initially with mine rolling and it was because I was using too thick of a pad; I was using a 1 inch felt top CE. I went to the 1/2 Zone pad by CE and it stopped rolling.

Ditto-I think you should go with a thinner pad like a 1/2"

If your horse has a pretty wide back you may need to order one w/ extra flat bars. That's what I had to do w/ my Crown C. The 10" gullet was wide enough but the bars needed a flatter angle to fit him.

I would say if its rolling it doesnt fit correctly (too big and/or too much pad)

I had this problem too. I was trying to use too much pad and it was rolling and sliding back. I started using just a 3/4" Tod Slone pad and shimmed the saddle, it worked perfectly. Try using less pad, and make sure you're putting the saddle in the correct position (behind the shoulder) and shimming it correctly. You can also try adjusting your rigging. Mine is in the most forward position. Good luck!

I have been using a Professional's Choice shearling cinch with my Crown C and it has been fine.  It was due for a wash so I hung it up and washed it and put a mohair cinch on to ride last night.  Wow, my saddle rolled like never before.  I won't use it with that saddle again.  Good luck!

I have a Crown C for my 4 year old colt, its a 9 inch gullet. I ordered it because everything else rolled on him,  they were to narrow. I got the saddle in September and it fit great but recently its began to roll, he has grown and now its to narrow again.I will be at the Spring Run/Sherry Cervi youth race in April and I am going to ask Sherry to take a look at the saddle. Year before last her and the rep fit my other two horses and explained the philosophy to me. It was really cool and made alot of sense to me. Hopefully the rep will be there again with a bunch of different gullet widths for us to try. The 9 fits my other horses with different pads and a shim.

I use a CSI with my Crown C and I shim.  It sits so well on my mare.  I don't even have to tighten it up much. Can't help you with the roll issue.
